I though Tennant was definately leaving halfway through Series 4, with a mid-season regeneration?

Can't remember where I heard that, but I'm sure it was ages ago, and I've always regarded it as an absolute fact. Confused

I thought it was just something the tabloids reported (?)

David Tennant insists he has no immediate plans to leave Doctor Who:

I think he will do the 5th as he is also doing a other programmes, remember that one of film he did about a man getting back to normal life,

also He not the last of the time lords: as there is one other! can;t remember his name but he's stuck on the other side of the black hole eye thing that make it possble to time travel

Omega. Hopefully the Rani's out there somewhere too. And perhaps even the Meddling Monk. Susan was left on Earth, so concievably she's still around too.

I'd like to have seen the Master, the Rani and Omega put aside their differences and team up.Of course the Master's return was OK the way it was.

I agree Ronnie -- it's great to see some of the old bad guys again, but if the programme becomes too dependent on these it will go down the tube when they run out of decent baddies to resurrect...

Blame RTD: because he bring back old enemies every season!
1: D
2: cybermen
3: Master:
4 Who know!

No, RTD has bought back the monsters that made the show iconic. The most famous villains. It's good to keep them, as they are what made the show so famous. Bringing back every goddamn villain from the old series is pointless. Look at some of the great baddies from the old series! Like Morbius and Sutekh. used ONCE! Do you know why they used them once? Because once you start overusing them you sh*t all over what made the characters good, by making them boring. There is no need to 5hag a good character to death by bringing them back time and time again.

Because RTD knows people like them. He's starting to overuse them now! I want NO more Daleks for at least a couple of years.

Many people (me included) haven't seen the original serieses (what is the plural of series?) so bringing back old enemies isn't all bad, but I can see your point that perhaps more originality is needed, e.g. having Daleks in every series, maybe series 4 could be Dalek-free (although that's probably too much to hope for with RTD at the helm)?

Well then buy the OLD DVDs if you want to become aquainted with the old monsters
