If it is Tom Ellis - wasn't he killed by the master on Saturday?

You must have missed the bit about time reversing at the end then Very Happy And Martha phoning him up...

Of course that is true, but there's a part I don't get. Doesn't the Doctor say at the end, 'but the President's still dead'? Or has this bcome completely blurred in my head...

Time has reversed to the point where the paradox machine kicked in (8.02 just after the President was destroyed).

It better not be Tom Ellis - it needs to be a male and female relationship - having two blokes stuck in a phone box for 13 weeks won't be as good!

Catherine Tate would be alright though! I enjoyed her appearance in last year's Christmas Special!

She would annoy me like hell watching for 13 episodes though. She was good as a one-off, but on a long term basis, I think it's more than I can stand.

I wonder if that'll upset the Americans if/when Doctor Who gets shown overseas.

In terms of new assistants I think another female assistant could be interesting, at least in terms of Martha's reaction when she returns during the next series. Though another male assistant would possibly make for a change.

But Martha is supposed to be re-joining the crew half way into the series.

I'd quite like to see a male/female companion.

Well, I suppose it has to be one of the two. Wink

There should be a new male companion IMO - it would add a bit of variety to have only a few blokes in the TARDIS for a while.

(Whether they'd end up just lounging about, getting drunk and watching the football I don't know.)
