RTD always said he didn't want to confuse young people by showing the regeneration of the 8th-9th Doctors, And what do you mean he needs to stop falling in love?? Love between the Doctor and companions has always been a taboo of the series, although I agree he got a bit too close to Rose for my liking.
I'm sure many of you will already be aware that "Human Nature" was originally an early-1990s Dr Who novel featuring the 7th Doctor, set at some point after the events of the final 1989 TV story (there were many such novels), and has now been adapted for telly featuring the 10th Doctor instead.
I'd love to see it with Sylvester McCoy's Doctor in it! The whole "schoolmaster-ly" persona and the "cloak and mortar board" look is
so
7th Doctor-ey. His relationship with companion Ace was always meant to be more overtly "teacher and pupil"-ey than most Dr/companion combinations. When I was watching last night, I could
so
tell that this "ought to be" a 7th Dr story!
As the early 1990s Dr Who novels were from an independent publisher (Virgin Books, I think) they are non-canonical. (If they did count as part of the official continuity, then we would now have a situation where the 10th Dr is having an adventure exactly the same as one he already had in his 7th incarnation, which wouldn't make sense. So, clearly, any Virgin Books adventures "never happened" in the Dr's official BBC-approved narrative/lifetime).
Conversely, I understand the novels published by
BBC
Books since 1996, and variously featuring Doctors 1 - 8,
are
"canon". (The plot synopsis on the back cover usually has a footnote as to which two TV stories the book is set between!)

can anyone tell me when What Eposide he Become the LAST time lord?
There is no episode when he becomes the last timelord. It happens between the 1996 movie and the new series.
so... there was a war the timelord lost but he;s the only one alive! But there Not books, tapes, radio, Or anything about this BAR someone saying it!?
yes. In the current series. The time war isn't some runour going round Who fans, although never seen, it has been constantly mentioned in the new series, and it is true! It is NOT a rumour.
Clockwise from top left, it's McCoy, McGann, Hartnell, Davison, Colin Baker. Someone at Outpost Gallifrey put this rather convincing demonstration of that together:
I believe they thought it would confuse (new) viewers if they were to bring back Paul McGann just to have him die somehow to be replaced with Chris Eccleston. If you didn't know Dr Who you wouldn't know about Regeneration so would get confused, but that's rubbish imo I think they were lazy, along with this stupid last of the timelords/time war thing.
They could have just shown the regeneration finish so that technically you don't see Paul McGann.
Anyway, now I'd like to read the book of Human Nature!

I really don't know what you're getting at here...
And actually,The first episode of the revived series is actually set not long after he regenerated. If you remember, he commented on his appearance when looking in the mirror, as though he'd seen himself for the first time.

Similar to the Colin Baker/Sylv McCoy one! (& before the pedants start, I know McCoy was also the 6th Doctor for part of the sequence!)
You're right. Baker refused to film a regeneration scene, because of his poor treatment by the BBC, so they put McCoy in a blonde wig and hid his face.
And why should they have shown the end of the regeneration? How could you tie that in with the episode?
