Oops, that's me mistyping up there, I'll go and correct that. What I meant to say that in Rose it's implicated that he's just regenerated as he comments on his ears, which indicates that he's more than likely just recently regenerated.

I had heard
Billie Piper was making a cameo in the New Year's Day episode but her name isn't on the Radio Times cast list. I had heard a rumour that Rose appears just as the wounded Doctor staggers out of the Tardis just before his regeneration and she doesn't even see him (neither does he see her).

I wonder what would happen to the Doctor "clone" who Rose went off with. Although they went to a parallel universe, it is possible for the Doctor to enter a parallel universe, isn't it?

She's 100% in it with her mother, as they've been seen [and snapped] on location. But it seems to be pre-Doctor Rose, as in he goes to see her before they ever met... a bit like he did with with Martha and his tie.

Oh and no he can't enter parallel universes... the last time someone attempted to do that *cough*Rose*cough* she ripped a hole in time and caused Davros to be sucked out of the time war with his reality bomb.

Nice to see spoilers well marked in this thread... Rolling Eyes

Of course if is in it, they won't put them in the cast list - it would ruin the surprise! Much like they put Timothy Dalton down as "narrator" last week rather than "Time Lord". They are sneaky like that

He's been announced as "The Narrator" for months now, clearly a Time Lord title... otherwise it would be "Narrator"... so "The" goes along with "Doctor" and "Master".

Fair point.

To give a more accurate example - Rose's appearance in Partners in Crime was neither on the cast list nor in the press screening - why ruin the surprise for everyone?

To be fair forums aren't the best of places for people to go if they don't want things spoilt.. plus, it isn't a crutial part of the plot, it's a tiny little cameo where they're seen together for the last time... she doesn't look into the heart of the TARDIS and kill The Master or anything Laughing

If I'd said something along the lines of Wilf being the one who kills The Doctor as he's actually a Time Lord in Human form [via a fob watch], and that the war "The Woman" is discussing is actually the Time War, and not any from Earth... then that would be a spoiler.

A false spoiler of course... but would be hillarious if now I was right! Cool

Without wishing to open up another massiver debate on spoilers - who are you (or anyone else, myself included) to judge what will and wont spoil peoples enjoyment of the episode - regardless of if it is integral to the plot or not? Just because it wont hamper your experience of the episode doesn't mean it is the same for everyone else. Some people like to be surprised by the little things as well, which is why they haven't officially announced this person in the cast list - integral to the plot or otherwise.

Forums aren't the best place for people who hate spoilers to go, I totally agree. However this forum usually gets the balance about right, and that previously unmarked information was totally out of character for the thread IMO.

You're wasting your breath there besty. I at least waited until I'd seen the first episode before looking in here, and lo and behold there's a massive spoiler for the next episode.

Its not as if there isn't a perfectly serviceable solution - the spoiler tags. But that's way too much effort some some selfish, thoughtless types. Its not even as if telling the spoilers is essential - the usual suspects are falling over themselves to repeat what they've read on other websites.

But anyone glancing upwards can see it's the same people who do it, again and again.

Oh good, this has blown up again. This is such a non-issue... why can't you just stick [ spoiler ] [ /spoiler ] tags round something? It's hardly difficult. I very much enjoyed Friday's episode, mainly because all I knew of it was that the Master and the Ood would be back (having seen the Children In Need preview and a trailer). I'd like it that to be the case this Friday - but no. Because I *shock horror* want to discuss the episode I've just seen and how good/bad it was (on a TV forum), I find I can't do that in case I read something such as*
Rose is coming back.
Brilliant, thanks everyone.

It's not like we're saying don't put spoilers. They're fine. But make sure people have a choice, please?

*yep, I can confirm that it is very easy to put spoiler tags in.

I apologise first off if I have forgotten to use spoiler tags in the past, it's never been intentional as I know some on here, really do not want to know about upcoming episodes.

Anyway according to the TV Times (and please, please do not click if you don't want to be "spoiled" also anyone else who wants to reply to this please add the spoiler tags, ta)

They only have six cast members listed:

The Doctor - David Tennant
The Master - John Simm
Wilfred Mott - Bernard Cribbins
The Narrator - Timothy Dalton
Donna Noble - Catherine Tate
Minnie Hooper - June Whitfield

and that's it, rather interesting to see June Whitfield's name there but not , for example, David Harewood (sp), then again this is the same cast list as is seen for the Christmas Day episode so it may just be that the TV Times has "copy/pasted" the cast list.

From what I've heard Tenth visits Rose before Ninth meets her & tells her that she'll have a wonderful year. Also rumoured to be appearing in this finale are Sarah Jane Smith & Luke Smith and Captain Jack Harkness, however Martha is still relatively unknown because, IIRC, when asked Freema was rather cryptic as to whether she'd be appearing or not.

Nice to see BTW that more of you over here are more positive about Part 1 compared to some of those on Gallifrey Base Laughing

Gallifrey Base are half users who are still stuck in the good old days and wont appreciate anything RTD does, ever! Laughing

Well Chatty Man just showed a new clip from Part Two... so I'm sure in 30mins it'll be on 4oD for those who wish to see a convo between Doc and The Master
