The biggest problem I've got with the logo, is how the logo is really aimed at the retro older Who audience... which I'm part of, so it's not an unbiased argument... and how newer and most importantly younger fans will see this revamp as a much duller and boring change.
The current look is colourful and exciting and modern, exactly what was intended from the shows revamp. It's the current look that's established the show, given it a second magazine for kids [can you imagine this new image on the Adventures mag?!], and launched two spin off shows just as popular as the main product itself. And yes the logo does help with all the above, as it's the shows image. Changing it to what I see as a stereotypical sci fi logo, with cold blues and sterile metals... not what I'd call warm or inviting for a family target audience.
