just like wyki you can put what you like on you tube, you could say Sean Bean is playing the Master and some would believe it Confused

(he's not, I just made that up, ok, Confused )

anwyay watched doomsday again and noticed that when they all go through the vortex and Rose returns to the Dr, Jake is with them, then when Rose gets pulled back across there is just her parents and Micky there, so where did Jake go

it's not only Corry I notice these things on Wink

Ah that means a new console set then, apparently the current one looks crap in HD

The console room isn't going to appear in Planet of the Dead , apparently. It's at least conceivable that they could avoid it entirely for all four specials (but, no, I don't really expect it - the regeneration, if nothing else, is virtually certain to be done on the TARDIS set).

It could happen, Robot==>Terror Of The Zygons were console room free, it only reappeared again from Planet Of Evil & I think (I may be wrong) it's last Pertwee apperance on screen was either Death To The Daleks or Monster Of Peladon.

They could do the next two at least without a console room, although as you say the regen sequence will probably be done on set.

Having said that though Troughton, Pertwee, T.Baker & McGann were all outside the Tardis when they regenerated.

I seem to recall a large chunk of the McCoy era didn't have the TARDIS set at all. Probably because by then it looked pony.

It appears in (IIRC): Time & The Rani, Delta & The Bannermen, Dragonfire, The Greatest Show In The Galaxy & Battlefield, although with Battlefield it was just the console. In between Seasons 25 & 26 the walls got damaged so they ended up putting up a curtain with holes in it & dimmed down the set so it wouldn't notice.

I think the walls dated back to The Invisible Enemy (1977) so probably would have been in a bad way by then. IIRC Mike Tucker who did the model effects on Who (and Red Dwarf) had plans for Season 27, had it had continued, including a completely redesigned console (that was attached to the ceiling but had nothing underneath) & walls.

The set during Season 22 (Colin's first) still looked fine & was used quite a lot (sometimes overused) but I imagine during the hiatus parts of got damaged or got tatty & so from Season 23, onwards, it was shown less & less.

At least one McCoy season was shot entirely on location using OB facilities, with no studios. The console room really required a studio - so that may explain the absence?

Well, if it goes HD for the specials then remains HD for Series 5, which is IMO likely at worst, I'd expect them to at least make some changes to the console set, if not to replace it completely. It's been four years now, it's starting to look a little stale...

Yes it may be a newspaper source, so still not 100% official... but it could be a worse newspaper let's be honest:

Quote:
The Tardis will undergo a full redesign when Matt Smith joins the cast as the eleventh Doctor in 2010, it has been claimed.

Producers will radically refit the inside of the time-travelling police box and will also enhance the quality of the exterior, The Mirror reports.

A source said: "It will be the most hi-tech, intricate Tardis ever."

Incoming head writer Stephen Moffat is reportedly interested in making sure the Tardis looks good in high definition.

He is also said to be attempting to distance himself from outgoing executive producer Russell T. Davies, and to herald a new era of the show.

Davies has previously admitted that a move to high definition would require the reconstruction of the Tardis to prevent its "flaws" showing on screen.

I think the console itself looks fine but probably could have a few more bits added to it or taken away.

As for the background, that I would change, just to give it a nice new refresh (seeing as everything else is). From what I understand parts of it are a bit "patchy" (as in bit of it have been "repaired" but IIRC, where they can get away with it on Normal Definition, it would show up on HD, although TBH I can really see that much of a difference except that the lines are a little bit sharper, although in some cases that's not always a good thing).

I can see absolutely everything being changed, set, titles, even a new remix of the theme music once 10th goes. A lot of the time when a new Producer takes over on Who there are several changes implimented.

Does anyone know if Watch will show Series three and four of Doctor Who?

It seems they are on a constant cycle of just showing Series one and two even when it was on UKTV Gold. Nothing changes its the same episodes over and over again.

Surley Watch, which is part owned by the BBC as they part own UKTV, could show series three and four, they must have the rights, it is a BBC show afterall. Give the first two series a rest for a while?

BBC Three seem to be playing Series 3 and 4 of Who a lot so I imagine they're not willing to have it shown on Watch too. Though Top Gear seems to play non-stop on Dave and BBC Three too.

The episodes of Who on Watch are clearly old copies because they're still in 14:9. I imagine they just have the rights to play them quite a few more times.
