You saying that though in 1986 they had a new theme introduced for Colin's second (and unfortunately last) series and they when McCoy came in they changed it again.
Anything can happen with a change of Producer on Who, although I don't think there will be major changes with Moffatt as he was part of RTD's team, although Moffatt's eventual replacement may do a big overhaul

Unlikely they revamped the title music for series 4, and if they had any intentions of doing it it would have been done then. I know new people are taking over etc, but doesn't seem too likely.

They completely rerecorded the title music for S2, however (using a live orchestra rather than samples, and readding the "middle eight" to the credits). And by the time S5 rolls around, the title sequence itself will be essentially six years old (barring inevitable changes to the names, and the change to use the "lava" merchandise logo rather than the earlier "brass plate" logo). Given that, I would be surprised not to see a significant tweak at the very least, although the logo will probably remain.

Well I'm old school and want to see The Doctor's face in the title sequence. That probably won't happen but with a new team we'll hopefully get a new title sequence.

Let's just hope that in 2010 when Series Five airs, Doctor Who has a revamped title sequence!

Yeah I read that on the BBC site aswell... wouldn't be getting our hopes up though... certainley won't happen for the next few years in my opinion.
In other possibly not gonna happen news, anyone else read the rumours about Paul McGann being asked to reprise his 8th Doctor role for on-screen? It's about time they explained how the 8th Doctor came to his demise. Eccleston turned up and that was it!
In my opinon McGann should've done the blowing up the department store scene in Rose, and then we'd have had a reason for his regeneration. But hopefully bringing him back for one of the specials like rumoured could give him a far greater demise.

how cool would that be especially if they managed to get ecclestone to film a brief few seconds at the end if they include the regeneration.

McGann seems to be a strong rumour & I hope it happens TBH, it's different bring back Doc4-7 as they had their times, had lots of shows under their belts & only two still look like they did (Davison & McCoy) when they did the show.
McGann on the other hand never got a fair chance, I'm suprised they didn't bring him back for the new series TBH (unless he didn't want to do it at the time)
