By trailer, it was more a typographical teaser simply saying Merlin followed by coming soon before the BBC One logo in a similar style to the doctor who trailers.

Have people got any information on this Merlin? Is it to be on in the Autumn instead of Robin Hood?

Now I'm excited. Yes i starts this Autumn which is weird because I thought Autumn is Robin Hood territory. It looks like Robin Hood will be on in the new year.

The BBC issued a press release.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2008/03_march/17/merlin.shtml

The cast includes Anthony Head and Richard Wilson. Colin Morgan is playing young Merlin and he appeared as Jethro in the Doctor Who episode Midnight a few weeks ago.

so does this mean 2010 the seasons will go like..

Autumn - Doctor Who (October - December with ep 14 being Christmas Day episode and last episode of the season)
Winter - Merlin or Robin Hood (January-March)
Spring - Merlin or Robin Hood (April-June)
Summer - nothing, as of yet

Actually it would be far better to have doctor who on in the autumn - ratings wouldn't go down for because of decent weather (what decent weather in autumn?) and episodes moved because of Eurovision or other major sporting events like finals or olympics etc... a good clear 14 episode run

But then it would have The X Factor (probably) to consider. And have to go before Strictly Come Dancing probably.

It certainly looks that way, BBC1 are going to have a massive hole on Saturday nights to fill in the Summer. I thought that when Torchwood was created it could go there, but instead they foolishly shoehorned swearing and sex into it and put it on BBC2. When Torchwood returns in 2009 it'll have 5 episodes stripped across the weak like Criminal Justice recently did.

Doctor Who might not work in the Autumn if it goes against The X Factor, look what the final of Britain's Got Talent did to it.

And the ratings are in 9.4 million watched on Saturday, so far it is the number 1 show for the day and the week!! Shocked

Torchwood is apparently going to be more child friendly from now on - hence Martha & Mickey joining.

They should have made Torchwood like that in the first place and then BBC1 would have had another drama for their family slot. Fools!!

I think this could be a bad mistake, anyways it does well at its 9pm slot, and how are you explain his lust for everything that moves?

Well that was the mistake the made in the first place. Lots of kids love Jack so why put him in a show with a format that they won't be allowed to watch?

And so what do they do now? Make a kid friendly version which will annoy people that like its hard edge. They should have made Torchwood a family drama from the beginning, to make it that way now is just stupid. And I do like Martha and Mickey but they aren't as good as Tosh and Owen and I won't be going out of my way to watch Torchwood lite.

I like doctor who and I think that David Tennant play the character very well. I think BBC One should change doctor who. They should have series 5 + 6 in 2010. This is why. I love doctor who however I think that it needs to be on more over the year. I think series 5 & 6 should have 8 episodes in them. Series 5 should be shown from the end of March and series 6 from October with the Christmas episode at the end. This will spread the filming process and hopefully David will stay for them.
I also like this idea because when it gets to the autumn I really want it back. It’s probably not a good idea but what do you think?

Thank for reading my idea.
