With regards to the regeneration, my own theory is that the regeneration will be interrupted partway through, creating an 'in-between' Doctor. This Doctor will be played by Bob Holness and will have a penchant for pink clothes and the Google Reader favicon. The actual Eleventh Doctor, produced when the severed hand catalyses the regeneration process, will be played by Matt Damon, carry a blue fedora everywhere, have a Welsh accent, and be the captain of the Gallifrey North Nudist Water-Sports Team (conveniently resurrected after the Time War is unlocked and Gallifrey, moments before its destruction, falls through the Rift and into orbit around our Sun (as in, the newspaper, as Gallifrey is dramatically reduced in physical size when it crosses the Vortex into the Cardiff exit of the Rift. Gallifrey's two new moons will be those of the Page Three girl.)

Interesting indeed...

The Doctor ...... David Tennant
Donna Noble ...... Catherine Tate
Rose Tyler ...... Billie Piper
Martha Jones ...... Freema Agyeman
Captain Jack Harkness ...... John Barrowman
Sarah Jane Smith ...... Elisabeth Sladen
Mickey Smith ...... Noel Clarke
Jackie Tyler ...... Camille Coduri
Luke Smith ...... Thomas Knight
Gwen Cooper ...... Eve Myles
Ianto Jones ...... Gareth David-Lloyd
Wilfred Mott ...... Bernard Cribbins
Sylvia Noble ...... Jacqueline King
Francine Jones ...... Adjoa Andoh
Davros ...... Julian Bleach
German Woman ...... Valda Aviks
Scared Woman ...... Shobu Kapoor
Chinese Woman ...... Elizabeth Tan
Liberian Man ...... Michael Price
Dalek Voice ...... Nicholas Briggs
Dalek Operators ...... Barney Edwards, Nick Pegg, David Hankinson, Anthony Spargo
Voice of Mr Smith ...... Alexander Armstrong

So nothing really going to happen to his regeneration, he won't become anyone else, unless he becomes a chinese woman or liberian man briefly.

Though I do like the rumours of David Tennant leaving, and the fact that every magazine type programme seems to be talking about it.

I think my favourite rumour was on Richard & Judy with the Alex Kingston to become the Doctor rumour, and to think about it, it would make sense to some of the things she was talking about in the episode.

I assumed she was a future assistant, but what's to stop a Doctor bumping into another Doctor without there being a time crash?
When you put things together from the episodes she said that she knew the Doctor better than anyone else, kept hinting at things from his past, and knew the Doctor's real name.

Could she change her name as she doesn't like being a Doctor, wasn't she a professor, or could she have just being making up a personna, and could have been there before, knowing that the past Doctor will be there, and so has got onboard the mission :S

As for the thing of her nearly dying at the end of the episode, could it be one of the last of the Doctors regenerations, and therefore they know that they will die, and so have to get the past Doctor, as in David Tennant to save her?

I sure know how to confuse myself!

What's to say they haven't announced the new Doctor's name beforehand? Obviously they're trying to keep things under wraps. Doctor Who has messed with its credits in the past to conceal plot spoilers: Terry Mallory was credited using an anagram to hide the return of Davros in one of the late 1980s stories.

Interesting. I'm sure if there is something going on, then they are trying to hide it well.
Part of me doesn't want to get over excited just in case.

I don't think anyone really believes there's going to be a new doctor do they?

No from what I understand (and I'd advise that you don't highlight the spoiler box below if you don't want to know):

According to some on DW Forums, Whilst the Tenth Doctor starts his regeneration some of the energy from it instead moves away from his body to the hand in the jar, this causes the regenration to reverse & form a new "Doctor", however the other rumour is that David Morrisey is taking over. Other rumours include Paul McGann being in one of next years specials so it could be a year long dragged out regeneration so that by the Christmas special he regenerates.

To be honestall this is wild speculation although the duplicate 10th Doctor seems to be accurate according to several on the DW Forum.

As for the rumoured replacements, discount anything mentioning Carlise & Nesbitt, these names have been bouncing around for 18 months now so will probably amount to nothing. Like Richard Griffiths when there were rumours of a replacement from the Tom Baker onwards, every Doctor until the end was supposedly suposed to be replace by Richard Griffiths, apparently had the series not been cancelled he would have been Doctor 8.

Anyway enough wild speculating less that six hours to go now Very Happy

Fan-bloody-tastic.

Incidentally, in the trailer at the end of the episode for the Christmas episode, did anyone notice David Morrissey? Considering he was rumoured to be the Eleventh Doctor, it's very interesting.
