This post is really aimed at Jugalug. I want to say that your enjoyment of the show is by watching and enjoying it unfold. That is fine.

So kind of you to give me your approval.

Facinating.

If I want to spend my day speculating and trying to work out who is what and who may be somebody or other, then that is entirely up to me. If I find out something prior to the airing of the episode it only adds to my enjoyment seeing how it unfolds into the plot.

Ah but here is the crux of it. Not all of us do. What I'm moaning about is more that there are sometimes too many spoilers appearing in this thread. Perhaps it would be nice to have separate threads next time for spoilers and for those who watch as they go.

If its in a separate thread I - and likely others - find it much less of a temptation than when its in here. Mainly due to the fact that if you post "davros is back" in spoiler tags and then someone was to reply "ooh, i hear nick owen from midlands today is playing him" the temptation to find the start of the conversation can become too much.

Just something to ponder.

Don't understand this, but does'nt billie sound like she has a lisp?
Her voice sounded strange in Turn Left.

This has been mentioned several times on the OG Forums, I think she said in an interview she had trouble trying to get the voice back as she hadn't done it for a while

I also noticed that her voice was rather odd; sometimes it seemed as though either her jaw had been wired together or she had overdosed on botox around her mouth.

I find it hard to accept that she had to 'get used to doing the voice of Rose again' when she has always come across as having the same voice in every TV production she's done since Dr Who.

Hymagumba, it seems that no one is ever going to win. If a new thread was started then other members just complain that a thread on the subject already exists and the new one is closed down. If a new thread isn't opened then complaints are made that one should be. I think you are the sort of person who likes to win arguments in pubs by purely dismissing other peoples opinions.

If you don't want to know spoilers then don't read them. It's as simple as that. I will look at spoilers and speculate but at the same time if information isn't available it wouldn't bother me either.

So as you quite rightly said in your last post: Here is the Crux of it:
If you don't want to read spoilers then DON'T!! If you do, then they're there! If you get tempted to look then you obviously wanted to in the first place. If you are the sort of person who likes to avoid football scores so that you enjoy Match Of The Day then you wouldn't be tempted. If however it doesn't matter whether you know or not then you will naturally click onto spoilers. No one is as right or wrong as anybody else.

Wicko - Pete has explained (quite clearly) that a thread with spoilers inevitably prompts further discussion with information that we don't want to hear.

The solution is simple. We have two threads - one with spoilers, the other to discuss what has appeared on screen so far with no spoilers.

Its not rocket science.

Wicko, stop banging on about it, you're boring everyone on an otherwise interesting thread. Can't you just get the message: if you want to post things that reveal the storyline of programmes then do it in a thread with a title beginning with
"This spoils your entertainment, but..."

He undoubtedly does, but that's an irrelevant aside since he's not the only one on this board of that opinion in this matter.

*BTW: over on Metropol he bans people for even glancing at him in the wrong way!

I think Rose's lisp is because they wanted her to deliver her lines like the Doctor does.

A lot of her script is written as though it was written for the Doctor, like when Donna tells her she'll have a long wait before she'll come with her, and Rose repies "not really, just three weeks, tell me does your grandfather still own that telescope", the delivery is exactly like Tennant.

There's also a few others things delivered like Tennant, things like "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" when she tells Donna she's going to die, and "he's got grrrrreat hair. Some really great hair...", and "that's more like it!" when Donna starts being gobby.

If you think of the times the Doctor has been 'upset' and delivers lines in a dead-pan way, (usually when he's saying "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry...") like in the 'Library' - all of Rose's lines were delivered that way. I think rather than her having surgery or botox, she was just delivering the lines in a weary, tired traveller way.

I will stop boring everyone from now on. Sorry if I did. This used to be quite a welcoming little forum but now it seems to be controlled by a few dictatorial individuals who all seem to think their words are law.

That said, it is an excellent idea to have two seperate Doctor Who threads. Should have been done a long time ago. I shall now, only comment on things from time to time and not use spoilers or complain or even express an opinion. That will, no doubt please everyone. By the way, where is Joe Havard? Or Simon Luxton? Have they been driven out as well?

Are you not Joe Havard, then?

You know, its not very fair to call people "dictatorial individuals" when all we've asked for is a thread without spoilers.

Its very petty, if I may say.

one 'error' though, Rose mentioned the Adipose, thought that only happened in London which had been destroyed.

it happened in america. that's why america couldn't give the massive loan as 60m people turned into fat.

Also, remember (was it lukey) moaning about the throwaway comment in the adipose episode where the nanny said the planet was destroyed but it was just politics. watching confidential shows that is an important teaser comment as so many planets are vanishing.

isn't it nice to follow a show as it goes instead of getting all overexcited with silly theories and "omg, rose it must be davros" stupidity? oh you prefer that you say Wicko? Shame.

Gavin, I am sorry for obviously using unfair wording. perhaps on reflection I was a little harsh. However, my points were as a result of the above posting that implied that people who liked spoilers and such like were stupid. I have always wondered why this years Doctor Who thread followed on from last years and why it included spoilers when you quite rightly mentioned that a spoilerless thread as an alternative would be the best compromise.

I sincerely hold my hands up and admit that some of my posts were perhaps needless and a little bit inappropriate. I was responding however to the rather self-opinionated view as mentioned in the above posting. There is no right or wrong way of enjoyment of a programme, one persons pleasure is indeed another's nightmare. I would never belittle or intentionally slag off someone just because they don't see things the way I do.

That said, I reiterate my sincere apology and hope now, this is the end of it. By the way, the points raised in the new DW thread....I agree with them all!
