Doctor Who - Discussions on Season 5 onwards

In the Forest Of The Dead episode of Doctor Who Confidential , RTD specifically said that it would be dumb to ever actually name the Doctor, because the enigma is the whole point, and anything they could possibly come up with would be a disappointment simply by virtue of killing the enigma.

So, having said all of that on camera in a DW Confidential interview, do you really think it's reasonable to suppose that the very following episode of Dr Who would reveal the Dr's name?

I don't think it's reasonable nor acceptable. All I am saying is the kids said what they said! They may be referring to something else and also may be referring to say the Professor aboard the shuttle. It is strange however, that Midnight was originally scheduled as episode 8 but changed so that continuity ran in conjunction with Forest Of the Dead.

I rather liked tonight's episode, it was unusual for something RTD wrote in that it was very tense, in an almost Steven Moffat-like way. RTD is normally better at the 'heartbreakers' ( Doomsday , The Parting of the Ways , The Sound of Drums , etc.) so it's nice to see he's also capable of doing something that's more... well... scary.

Yeah there's some kind of legal issue with them, someone leaked them early so the BBC are going OTT at the moment, it's not as if we didn't know

Turn Left was excellent, and I think the next episode (or two) look magnificent. It's interesting how almost all of the significant characters from the Whoniverse are being pulled together for this finale - perhaps it's one last hurrah for RTD before Steven Moffat takes over?
