Just tried clicking the video and it appears to be working fine. It's a clip from The Daily Show with a marching band that seems to be playing the part of the eleventh Doctor's theme.

I see "gapro.accountid=UA-241875-1" in the link so perhaps it's only available to logged in users, or something? Bit like this place where trying to go Multiview without being logged in results in a 404.

It's because the player that TV Forum uses seems to want to load a whole mp4 file before it will start playing it. That is why I use .flv files.

Ah, I see the problem. I was copying and pasting the flashvars, but that's not a proper URL. Just had to replace a & with a ? and it was sorted.

What if this is actually the first of a new series where contenders to play the role are eliminated week by week a la Joseph or Maria, but with Moffat sitting on Lloyd Webber's throne?

Obviously, the eliminated contender each week would be pushed into the Timelash.

Or they could go the HIGNFY route and have a different guest Doctor every week. We'll all wonder why they don't just give the job to Alexander Armstrong permanently at first, Boris will be funny the first couple of times but we'll get bored of it, and Bruce Forsyth will surprise everyone by actually being quite entertaining.

I'm sure the programme won't be running late, it is being broadcast on BBC America too so it will probably be on schedule to the exact second. What other channels are showing it? Zoe Ball said it was on the BBC around the world.

I wonder if it will have ad breaks and if they will be obvious for UK viewers.

EDIT: She also talked about the BBC Doctor Who website but didn't give the URL. I guess each territory gets their own graphics with their own URL on it.
