The special was excellent, but I have to second ben's comment - Peter Davison's special was absolutely hilarious. Who else spotted the Pertwee (obvious) and the Troughton (less obvious)?
And a brilliant twist at the end - I just hope that wasn't TV trickery and it actually happened that way!

I never noticed Troughton where was he? plus where was pertwee?
I should have said a Pertwee and a Troughton - Sean Pertwee in the opening scene with Olivia Coleman, and Michael Troughton (who was previously in the episode
Midnight
) was one of the Dalek operators - along with Nicholas "voice of the Daleks" Briggs and - for some reason - Frank Skinner.
It's still looping on the red button now if you missed it.
The BBC Three programme has at last made it to BBC iPlayer. It was probably the highlight of all the Doctor Who things I have seen in this last week.
For reasons unknown, BBC Three decided it would be a good idea to interview the popular boy band, One Direction, even though they are not particularly known for being Doctor Who fans or having any link to the programme at all. Unfortunately, One Direction were busy in America celebrating 50 years since the death of JFK or something so couldn't be in the studio. BBC Three did a live link to them which had a massive delay. It transpired that they hadn't actually seen the episode of Doctor Who anyway. Luckily for all concerned, someone had prepared a question for them to read from a card. The question was (and I admit I am paraphrasing here) "Was it any good?". Matt Smith answered "yes" or words to that effect before the whole thing was abandoned.
I was a bit surprised that Behind The Lens was shown at exactly the same time as the Afterparty, and it's exactly the same for this evening's repeats.
It would have made more sense to have shown Behind The Lens after the Afterparty, or extended the timeslot for Behind The Lens so that it continued to be shown after the Afterparty had finished.
How so? The red button SD stream was either being used to promote the 3D version on Red Button HD or displaying a holding slide until just after 22:00 when the The Five(ish) Doctors Rebooted was shown. I would argue they shouldn't have used the red button at all. Why wasn't The Five(ish) Doctors Rebooted shown on one of the main channels?
This is where only having one red button stream really limits what the BBC can do.
Not really, they've 4 other channels with decreasing budgets and hours of airtime to fill. Why waste something like that on the Red Button that a large proportion of viewers can't record it.
The aftershow seemed an odd idea anyway and the use of the word 'aftermath' didn't sell it to me either.

That's not the only stupid piece of scheduling this weekend. If people missed Day of the Doctor due to X Factor, they can't watch today's BBC Three repeat either - because that overlaps with the X Factor results show. There must be plenty of people out there who like both shows.

No, the Red Button only had a holding slide until just after 21:00, when Behind The Lens was shown, at the same time as the Afterparty.
I don't even think Behind The Lens was mentioned on the main channels, so a lot of viewers wouldn't have even known it was on.
