Very odd name for a Freeview channel.

Well, we have a channel called Dave.

I reckon it's more likely that people will associate the name with being mildly pornographic .

I didn't mean that kind of hardcore fan!

You've only quoted part of my post, I qualify why I think that in the second part.

Quest Red's facebook page states Freeview channel 38.

So, it's clearly on Quest+1's current position on Freeview. Demonstrates two things; either it will get shunted off the platform, or find itself on COM8. Just on a less prominent LCN.

Quest Red is looking more likely to launch on COM5. On its launch day, Tiny Pop is moving to the local mux - allowing Discovery to use the capacity for Quest Red. Quest+1 is salvaged effectively with this configuration.

However this brings about issues on the Local mux - it's entirely full. Either one channel will have to timeshare, or get shunted off the platform.

In Northern Ireland 162 on Sky is RTE2HD, will this be moved for Quest Red?

I highly doubt it. Quest Red will launch on another channel number in NI I'm sure of it.

Does RTE2 not have HD swap on Sky? In which case I'd have thought a move would be fine.

It does, it's on 162 or 224 depending on what subscription you have. But the RTÉ channels along with TG 4 are a block of 3, so making one of them move is like asking Sky to move Sky Atlantic from 107 because it wasn't used in Ireland and something else is going to launch there. Quest Red will be launching elsewhere in NI, I'd be very, VERY surprised if RTÉ allowed them to just take 162 and bump RTÉ 2 into the high 200's.
