Digital TV promo on Five

Spotted a new promo for Digital TV switchover on Five today. Quite a nice one as it features TVs from down the ages - a sort of similar, but much cheaper, version of the Australian Foxtel HD ad.

Caught this one during The Wright Stuff this morning, it looks like they've got the best one out of the terrestrials at the moment.

Although why Channel 4 didn't use Max Headroom to his full potenial (on their DSO) I don't know.....

Looks just like the one that France 2 used a while back to advertise their switch to widescreen, too.

Hmm, rather good, like how they used a clip from the fives launch, also decided to mention it here, but fivers cursor blocks are in the colours of the old colour bar on 5.

It's also very similar to the sequence that Ondigital used to open up their own channels.

I found a copy on my hard drive the other day, it might be from Private Parts. Alas it's just slightly too big to put up on the upload service

It is from the PP, it's quite good, although you can tell On Digital were behind it, as the TV shows one of the original Carlton idents and the whole family using the 'excellent' On Digital services such as Games.

It shows some 'Ally Pally' newsreel logo, an early Granada logo, the original BBC2 and Channel 4 idents, MTV, Carlton, Channel 5's launch and then news 24, ITV2
