Since there isn't a thread about it yet, I though I woud start one.
The switchover is rather akward, and is not gonna use dvb-t. It also shuts off cold in 2009. There is almost no publisity about it, and there are no advantages, you get the same channels and such. It uses the ATSC standard. There will be a few new channels. For example, WPIX in NYC is Channel 11. There would be sub channels, so if you press 11.1, you can get a music video network called the tube. There are rumors that the FCC might set up a freeview-esque system with An ABC2 and ABC News NOw channel on OTA TV. I think the reason that there is not much publicity is because 65% of people either have cable or satelite or have HD, which is part of the ATSC standard here.
