I'm looking to upgrade my indoor aerial, I currently use the Tesco Technika amplified aerial with an adjustable control, you can still get them for about £20. They're okay, I have no trouble whatsover with getting the 2nd BBC MUX and NGW MUXes, but it's hopeless on the BBC MUX and I can pick up things here and there on the ITV/C4 and SDN MUXes. I have been looking round and I've been interested in the most expensive One For All one you can get in Currys Digital and a special Philips one they sell in Asda. Can anyone give me any recommendations? Or stick with what I have...

This article might be of use - in particular the section on 'best indoor aerials'.

If either of you had bothered to read my post properly I think you'll find I was criticising Argos the company, not the products they are selling.

Perhaps you'd like to explain to me the difference between the tick boxes "Freeview" and "Digital" that Argos like to use to "help" people buy aerials.

We're not criticising the aerials. I pointed out that, although Argos is **** when it comes to differentiating between digital and Freeview, that there are still some indoor TV aerials they sell which cannot aptly recieve DTT signals.

If you're close enough to the transmitter, a coat hanger, or even just facing the aerial socket of the television in the right direction, will give you perfect digital reception.

If you live in that bungalow at the end of the road at Culverhouse Cross, you'll get perfect digital off Wenvoe, with or without an aerial from Currys, Argos or Top Shop.

I know what you mean there, my girlfriend lives in a shared house and they have an aerial that's split three ways, her way the signal shows almost nothing, we got more look by putting the end of an RF Cable next to a metal pipe and we got a half decent picture, but I ended up giving her my old £5 Tesco aerial in the end, which proves better, but not much.

Cheers to Spencer for that link. The signal in Warrington is relatively good, we have no problem with the outdoor aerial and we can see Winter Hill on a good day. I guess it just depends what's around you, one of the best bets is to have the aerial placed as high up as you can.
