I agree. Although WWTBAM is run by Celedor, we could argue that "one-style" Endemol also killed the traditional gameshow.

Given that, I could hazard a guess at maybe the lack of the old ITV regional system being a part of it too as it did pave the way for the larger indie production companies to go and create programming which blew old cosy shows like Catchphrase and Strike It Rich out of the water.

Not that I'd like to see any of the older shows back, no, that'd be perpetuating bland asinine gameshows like the ones during the 90s and what'd be the point besides bloody minded nostalgia?

Apart from Dales wardrobe. What have they done to the poor guy, he's supposed to look like a supermarket manager not a biker out of the Village People.

Yeah, its like he drives down to Maidstone, does his own eye-liner in the car whilst driving and just jumps onto the set.

I agree, the blame doesnt only lie with WWTBAM. The Weakest Link is another show done to death.

Deal or No Deal will heading the same way before too long I feel.

Bring back Blankety Blank I say; no big cash prizes, just a cheque book and pen or a four-slice toaster if you were really lucky. I can see Big Vern presenting now Laughing

Yeah I agree about Millionaire and the Weakest Link. Both shows are well past their sell-by dates. I loved watching both when they started but I gave up on them pretty much about 5 years ago. I can see Deal or No Deal's figures going down at some point in the near future.

PokerFace is quite good. Nice having a fresh idea for a change.

Oh yes, almost forgot about that! Shame really, because it wasn't his fault was it? Even so, didn't his 'My Kind of Music' show last after that accident?

When He walked on the "My kind of Music" stage after that incident, didn't people start asking questions like "can i come to a party at your house??, in your pool??" from the audience during recording, and he walked off stage and had to be persuaded to continue recording

And yes, Millionaire did kill the gameshow. I hate it!!!

Technically it has, because the £250,000 has now been won, so the big draw has now gone. Not much else to watch for, unless the Banker appears, which seems quite doubtful.

i would say that The Weakest Link is more responsible than WWTBAM mainly as they have had far more "special editions" than WWTBAM

The problem with gameshows now is they are on 3-5 times a week for 3-5 months of the year with only 1-2 months break
