Well as I've said in the Look North thread... the reason an ident might not have been used today is because it was all from the self-op and I don't think that has the facility to play an ident - just to opt-out and in and the other stuff (with the buttons covered in lego, velcro, etc!)
BBC North West used the full idents every time, even when there was 2mins for the evening bulletin yesterday! They ran a little short, and cut off half way through Martin Henfield signing off. There was another small mistake on yesterday's lunchtime North West Today - they started with the North West Today titles, and ended with the North West Tonight end sting!
BBC wales had regional idents. I noticed yesterday that an xmas one started and then a normal balloon ident cut in!

BBC ONE London used it for the lunchtime LDN bulletin today, but it was sans regional description - ie just the network logo.

BBC East just used the normal balloon ident that was shot at Cley next the Sea in Norfolk, prior to the bulletins on the Saturday and Sunday, but used the 'short' version of the Look East titles on Boxing Day.
I suppose they will do this until network presentation in London stops using the Xmas ident into programmes.

The South East region used the balloon with the dinosaur:
bbc midlands used the short trailer animation with bbc one midlands added on to the bottom. i get the feeling it was a creation of pebble mill, as its similar to the bham rotunda ident, as when the text appears, the area around it seems to darken
but i might just be imagining it?
im suprised they bothered anyway, i think theyve only started using it today
