Now the golf is finshed for another year. What do everyone think of the golf coverege this year. I wonder if Gary Lineker will ever present the live coverage if Steve Rider ever leaves the BBC since he's excellent presenting highlights (It could do with Alan Hansen as well)

Have anyone noticed on the interactive coverage that snooker commenator Phil Yates was commenating for BBCi. With Peter Aliss and co on BBCtv. Talkin of which, What has happened to Alex Hay. Has he left? He was realy great.

And well done for Tigger Woods for winning his second Open yesterday.

I suppose St Andrews must be a venue held every 5 years now since it's been doing that since 1990, 1995 and 2000. The ones before 1990 (I can think of right now) were in 1970, 1978 and 1984. Roll on 2010.

Is steve rider leaving, because I saw them present him with something which implied it was his last open.

I don't know if he's a troll or not, much less an 'idiot'.

But in fairness to him, whether he's a football commentator or not, wasn't Lineker the presenter of the nightly Open highlights shows last week?

To answer and clarify some points raised above..

Gary hosted the highlights because Steve was on duty from 9am until near 7.30pm (Thurs/Fri) hosting the live coverage.

Alex Hay was at St Andrews. He was one of the commentators on the interational feed coverage.

Steve was presented with a framed picture as The Open last week was the 50th major golf tournament that he has presented coverage of.

I'm new here so I'll take your word for it! Embarassed

But whatever he's said in the past I still think it was a bit much to call the guy an idiot when what he was saying was actually valid.

Like you say, you're new here. Maybe you should spend a few minutes reading scottishenders other posts before suggesting I was wrong to call him an idiot. I am not the only one to feel this way about him.. Maybe when youve actually read the posts can you disagree with my calling him an idiot.

I'm not going to start an argument here but I'm only really concerned about this thread ... do people here call the guy an idiot whether his post is valid or not?
Just wondering really, because despite me avoiding joining the mocks forum after seeing some of the comments made to posters over there I didn't have this particular forum down to be of the same ilk?

Lets put it this way - life here can be harsh.

seriously though, this person has been known to be a bit of a wind-up merchant in the past, and many would say hat he deserves all he gets.

Alex also did the BBCi commentary when there was a change over from BBC1 to BBC2 and vice versa.
