I've been interested in TV pres. since I was about 3 or 4. I remember being able to use the video at this age, and I used to tape the idents off 'Lifestyle' on satellite. I also loved the Sky News theme from about 1989-1991. Little things used to fascinate me like why Sky News was on TV-am and why ITV Schools was on Channel 4. And why Blockbusters was on at a different time in Blackpool (oh for those regional days:( ) and why their channel 3 was called Granada and not Scottish.
Then when the Sky multi-channel package came out in '93 I loved listening to all the different jingles and seeing their graphics. I'd wake my mum up at 6.00am to watch pages from Ceefax and 4-Tel On View. So cool!

TV-am changed to GMTV and I wondered why GMTV had loads of different adverts to the rest of ITV and didn't end until *after* a commercial break.
As I took trips around the UK i took note of all the different idents (IIRC I have been to the Grampian, Scottish, Ulster, Border, Granada, TSW, Central and Thames/LWT regions)
BBC1 changed their logo and globe and BBC2 stopped showing a clock

(unless you count at closedowns but I did not stay up like a naughty boy) STV also gave up their clock about this time. All channels were 24-hr. ITV and C4 stopped cross-promoting each other. (When was the exact date for this? , or did ITV stop promoting C4 before C4 stopped promoting ITV?) I was becoming disillusioned with TV pres and that is when I went into the libraries internet and typed in 'TV nostalgia'. I got matches for MHP and Andrew Wiseman's 625 room. From there I found links to other sites including the TV forum (when it was one with SOTCAA I think) Until then i *honestly* thought I was the only person in the world interested in this stuff.
