Interesting how things have changed from the first series. I think the toilet has moved (originally on the left somewhere), and they didn't have the basement or the spare room by the looks of it.

Everything in the basic living room has always been where it is, the lift, the moose, the sofa, the toilet and airing cupboard, etc.

The original set was built around the CBBC Channel Studio (part of the set in studio 4 that shared with X Change and Newsround), so the D&D life fitted into the CBBC life, the wall came out around theirs, the step up to the door fitted the step in CBBC's, even the window was lined up with one of the plasmas.

When they moved to BBC One, the set moved into TC6, the home of all recent Saturday Morning BBC programmes, and so they extended it as it's a 8000ft studio by adding a basement, and spare rooms (even though there's no proper bedroom). For this past series they added a loft, as to what they'll add next series, we'll just have to wait and see.

do you work for the BBC, you seem to have a lot of knowledge about it?

I wish I worked for BBC wages, unfortunatley no, I just watch the programme and I've seen all of the behind the scenes they've done over the years. Plus with the living room set, it's obvious when you see the CBBC Channel set that it's built around it. It was quite clever how they did it in my mind.
Plus they most probably didn't have a set to reherse in as CBBC was on the air until 7, though most nights they used Stuido 9, as they did at weekends, and are now in permanantly.
There was just something nice about having all of the elements of the channel in one multi purpose built set.

IIRC, Wide Awake Club was the Saturday morning show on TVam and Wacaday was the stuff Timmy Mallet did but you probably knew that anyway!

Did anyone see Timmy Mallet on the Comic Relief editions of Dick N Dom in the Bungalow. They managed to get plenty of spot effects from the Wacaday shows including the sample of the mallet, the sting that goes "weeeeeeere wide awake!" and even the theme tune at the start of the 6pm show

Yes, although it is often forgotten in favour of Wacaday, despite it being the better programme.

One of its presenters, James Baker is now controller of Sky One
