It's not exactly Christmas Day today though is it, surely some DJs should be working today

If the emergency tape is at Broadcasting House, how do sort of switch back to Yalding House? Do they manually do it, or is it automatic as soon as sound is heard again?

I'm confused. 2 minutes in and I haven't heard any breakdown so far - all I'm getting is Scott Mills! Confused

I've just listened again online. If you click on Radio 1's Chart Show Live Relived..

2m30 is where the show just ends, a bit later the backup tape kicks in
2m50 is where the backup tape gives up the ghost and skips back and forth all over the shop, which then continues to the end and then into Pete Tong's show

Obviously there was nobody there at all to sort it out

That's what they get putting out an entire schedule with recorded programmes

I hope Chappers and Dave mention it tomorrow

Ohhh you mean 2 HOURS thirty. Ok.

He means hours. It cuts off just after 2h30m with Bones from The Killers. The jump around is most notable around 2h53m in the middle of Thunder In My Heart.

A silence detector is used, which starts the CD after a set amount of silence (I think it's 2 mins for Radio 1) and then turns it off the moment audio is restored. Also, as I understood it the emergency CD's are playout out at the masts, not at Broadcasting House, unless they recently changed it.

Well, I was listening to Moyles the other week and he was trying to annoy Rachel by being silent so the emergency tape would kick in - he said it was 15 second or something, and that the tape was at Broadcasting House.

Then again it Moyles, so it probably wrong.

And wasn't it Killers Bones after the awful song that is Bob Sinclar Dance Now, and then the silence occured. Then the tape started and it was the Arctic Monkeys with Dancefloor?

EDIT: Sorry, just read r2ro's post...

lol Moyles must know it's 2 minutes, I cannot believe he doesn't. And if he really didn't, he will do now!
