Nice little bits of extra set as well, not changed the bungalow but added basments and more, which could have been there but were never used.

I liked the basement etc. With the granny locked up in a cage! I think that's because a) bigger budget and most importantly b) more space. I doubt very much they are still in TC2 like before.

If TOTP Saturday is recorded it means that could be done Friday in TC6 and then Dick and Dom are there on Sat and Sun.

I liked the bungalow this morning. I still think SM:tv are just being cheap and uninventive doing "Gold" for a few months. Really it should be 3 or 4 weeks with Ant, Dec & Cat returning for the last show.

I'd say Wed as the Sugababes set was the same that Muse used on the main show

I watched SM:tv until I got bored, at which point I switched onto BBC1 and Dick and Dom had finished, so I continued watching SM:tv which like the good old days, had me in stitches. I realised that H really was a good replacement for Dec - their characters and personalities whilst presenting SM:tv were quite similar. Nice to see Louise back on SM:tv too.

I've watched Dick and Dom in the past and have found the sexual innuendo quite amusing, but it doesn't appeal to me as much as SM:tv.

They are being cheap to save more money for the new show. I hope Ant, Dec & Cat do return, surely if they are planning on using stephen on the new show he wont be on SM:tv live for much longer.

I presume dick & dom will be using studio 6 , though that studio will still be massive for the size of the bungalow in it. It wouldnt have the same cosyness as having it surrounded by the CBBC set and having xchange on the other side.

TOTP Saturday is now being done from the main TOTP studio (i presume this is to save on costs of a new set. As previously they just used the saturday show set with a few changes to backings, etc. when they had the two stages (god that seems ages ago now) at TVC.

i don't think smtv gold can be to save money for the new show as it won't be produced by blaze. and it's interesting that it would launch on the same day as the bungalow.

Welcome to TV forum Heppy. I have read the dick & dom thread on digital spy, and its nice to have you in this forum too.

Is da bungalow set in the same place on both days, or does it have to be shifted out on sundays to make way for something else?

I believe that was the idea fo SM:tv Gold, to launch on the same day as da bungalow. In 2001, SM:tv bought back all of its popular features, splatoon, chums, challenge ant & wonkey donkey on the same saturday that the saturday show launched. They know how to play the game, and play a good game indeed.

Seems like there are mixed reactions as many who have seen it before still love it, but now there are a lot of new viewers especially new parents on BBC One, that seem to have attacked the points of view board, maybe Dick & Dom will feature on next weeks POV, Im betting it will!

nope, the bungalow stays where it is. 47 madeup crescent, south acrington, bodsmead, blubber.

Ah yes we all remember THE incident of last series, was it med-evil britney?

I quite like when programmes do that as they spring a reaction and thats how they get noticed and gain a following.

Such as sm:tv live stunts such as the april fools day prank when during the postbag dec collapsed, it was really realistically shot, cameras were dropped, crew members rushed in, people were shouting for assistance and pokemon was rushed on. It was great after when dec says started, dec thanked viewers for all of the phone calls, faxes and emails, said he was fine, then turned to the close up saying 'Happy April fools Day' followed by a wink (with sound effect!), those were the days!

Didn't they get told off by the ITC for that one?

there is never an excuse not to go and laugh at the POV board. It's just wonderful.

Dont know, but it was great. It sure kept the viewers watching pokemon.

Dont remember hearing about a report though!

I was really shocked when it happened though, i kept thinking they havent done an april fools day thing yet, and then i kept thinking was it an april fools day gag or was it just a sinister coinsidence.

The following year, it would have been 2001 saw ant doing a pre titles bit ( unknown on sm:tv ) where he was planning april fools one day early tricks on dec & cat! That was more of a sketch though.

At the same time on Live & Kicking as the big april fools stunt, they put a lot of effort to create a film trailing EASTENDERS : The Movie. They had all of the big stars of the show and a couple of movie stars that were supposed to be playing the roles. I actually watched this, and didnt think for one moment it was a april fool, rather stupidly!

This is one clip they will probably replay on SM:TV Gold at some stage.

Looking on the ITC website there's these complaints about SM:TV Live:

http://www.itc.org.uk/itc_publications/complaints_reports/programme_complaints/show_complaint.asp?prog_complaint_id=613

This complaint on 8th March 2003 due to the Tess Grows Her Own sketch including words such as 'p****' and 'knob'. LWT were in breach of the programme code

http://www.itc.org.uk/itc_publications/complaints_reports/programme_complaints/show_complaint.asp?prog_complaint_id=570

On 12th October 2002, some viewers thought that certain performances on CD:UK were sexually suggestive. The ITC didn't agree

http://www.itc.org.uk/itc_publications/complaints_reports/programme_complaints/show_complaint.asp?prog_complaint_id=557

On 21st September 2002, on CD:UK, Pink's T-Shirt included very strong language. The complaint was upheld and LWT were in breach of the programme code

http://www.itc.org.uk/itc_publications/complaints_reports/programme_complaints/show_complaint.asp?prog_complaint_id=178

On 12th September 1999, the presenters repeatly made too many references to brand names during competitions. Also there was lots of innuendo in many shows. "In view of the repeated nature of the problems with this series, the ITC issued a formal warning to LWT"

As of course the ITC only covers commercial tv I'm not sure what sort of official slaps of wrists there's been with the opposition

I remeber the sketch, but I dont remeber those two terms used. Surely they wouldnt do that, write that into a sketch?

It was Tess as a gardener and Brian as a DIY person (not Brian the builder, remember that sketch!).

And she was saying something along the lines of 'and i personally pride myself on' (in which Brian cuts in with) 'a battered old chest and bow legs!

I think that was from the first relaunch 8.3.03 That was a great show with many new ideas, if only they'd have kept it up. If only Brian would have stayed! Though Stephen & Des are working great, must add it in!
