It's the last Saturday Show tomorrow morning. Dick & Dom will be there (hopefully taking the mick all morning).
The times next week are
BBC ONE
9:00 Dick & Dom
11:00 TOTP On Saturday
12:00 BBC NEWS

CBBC Channel
9:00 Dick & Dom
11:00 Galidor

Dick & Dom will be on 9 to 11 on Sunday on the channel.

So the only major difference is that they've been reduced to 2 hours.

Will the no celeb thing work?

I think it could if SM:tv carries on as they are doing.

Will SM:tv Gold be good?

I think it will work, but also think it's just a cheap way to get high ratings in the last few weeks of SM:tv.

EDIT: SMTV Gold will start on the 21st September (next week)

Unsure. I watched Dick & Dom all the way through the last series, I enjoyed it, but I dont like the idea of cutting it down to 2 hours and simalcasting it on BBC One and CBBC. The idea was that if people wanted a celebrity guests, music, etc. then they watched The Saturday Show, where as others watched Dick & Dom, now though, if people want that stuff they will be able to watch it on SM:tv Live.

Even though SMTV GOLD will show classic clips, they will still have the same show, phone ins, hopefully bring back other classic games other than Wonkey Donkey, or change wonkey donkey so they dont have to use animals, perhaps a dinky car that has eyes as headlights with one that flashes on and off, i.e winking therefore a game called winky dinky! Or maybe not!

I cant wait for the last new game introduced, but the one that has made me laugh so much, Rumpy Pumpy!

I hope they all enjoyed their holiday in handbag land! It was a great end to the last series, with the elderly's they invited in to judge something, that massive bloke (im sure it was the bloke that played chewbacca!), the kids, dick & dom, francis, and im sure there were people in costumes somewhere as well! Just hope it is as good simalcast, and shortened (why couldnt they have scheduled the full 3 hours and had TOTP Sat instead of TSS extra?) and I hop ethey dont get too big headed being on BBC One.

It's actually Pumpy Rumpy. When they were playing Blankety Blank once someone put, 'Rumpy Pumpy makes you feel like _______ ?' Whoops!

The only reason why Dick and Dom is two hours instead of three is that they've cut out some of the filler cartoons that they used to have. There will be only three on Saturday whereas in the last year it wasn't unusual for there to be five or six. In fact when I taped the first show I TiVoed out the fillers and it was only 1hr 10 min...so you're not losing anything.

JB is correct - DADIDB is the same with some tarted up graphics - you may have seen the new address board on this mornings Saturday Show.

They've cut out some of the filler, but the rest is more or less the same.

I do remember the "Generator Game" when it first started, neon coloured objects with a typical cheesy voiceover.

"Ooooh look at this, it's an elephant" - "You might get this, it's a horn"

All sorts of innuendo the kids didn't realise but everyone else did!

Fab stuff!

Can somebody confirm how SMTV GOld will turn out. Will the show be like the This Morning of the summer in which it was wall to wall archive material or will the show be part new and part old archive material to fill the morning up?

Little factoid here. Did you know in the Tyne Tees region in the 70's or early 80's, there was a kids show called Saturday Morning Television. Who would think that the name would be modernised for the late 90's and be used again!

They should just repeat UP2U, just to go round Five Star's house again

Speaking of which, (IIRC) When ITV axed Tiswas in 1982, it was replaced by . . . The Saturday Show . . . !
From what I've seen of "Dick & Dom In Da Bungalow", their format seems rather like a modern day Tiswas.

Only a lot more banal, stupid and puerile than Tiswas ever was!
