I believe that the 5 day dramatisation of Anne Frank should not be allowed to pass without some comments on here.

For me it was superb, excellent television. Proving that you can tackle something as serious and harowing as this in such an early time slot. The whole serial was brilliantly acted (Lesley Sharpe especially) and I loved the fact that it was on 5 consecutive nights, making it really accessable, easy to stay with and follow.

Did anyone else watch it? What are your thoughts?

I totally agree - brilliant production.

Absolutely, One of the best dramas I've watched for a while - both in the acting and the way it was produced. The music was eerie and poignant, and the cinematography really helped to make Anne's experiences as real as possible to the audience. I couldn't imagine any one else but Ellie Kendrick playing her after watching.

It really left a lasting impression.

It was a great pity that they put it on in the 19:00 to 19:30 slot and that it was so, completely, different to the normal occupier of that slot.

The One Show is so utterly dreadful that we've reorganised our lives to do other things and completely avoid television in that time slot.

We, therefore, didn't even realise it was on until the fourth or fifth day.

It might have been good, but the BBC wasted it by putting it on at that time.

Well now I just had to reply to your comment Mr Harvey, as I had exactly the same opinion of the timeslot and of its temporary occupant [although I caught it from Tuesday onwards].

I do believe however that the announcer mentioned it will be repeated towards the end of the month on BBC2.

I have not seen it yet, but BBC2 may show it at the end of the month in conjunction with Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27th.

If this is on BBC iPlayer I will watch it then.

I'm annoyed. I missed every episode of this, and it sounded excellent. I'll V+ it when it's repeated on BBC2.

They should have either serialised it on Saturday nights in the slot previously occupied by Outnumbered , or stripped it at a later slot such as 8:30 or 10:35

Yes, but it's now Wednesday on the week after the Monday on which the first episode aired, unless it's on series catch-up (which I haven't checked yet) only the last three episodes will now be available.

I'll have a look, though. I did catch a bit of episode 3, and the bit that I saw was excellent. It's just a shame about the lousy scheduling.

Yes, I wouldn't have got your hopes off if I hadn't checked. Smile And when I posted, it was Monday at 6 o'clock, so would have been available anyway.
