I was in the audience for The One and Only Des O'Connor, which was broadcast for his 80th birthday.
This would have been a great show to be repeated as a tribute, but unfortunately that seems unlikely, as it hasn't been repeated since its original broadcast, due to Max Clifford being in the audience, and the number of audience shots in the show would make it difficult to edit.
Such sad news, once again another great entertainer has left us. I’ll fondly remember him for Take Your Pick & Des O’Connor tonight whilst growing up in the 90s, also, due to shift work, I enjoyed most episodes of Today with Des & Mel (which I’m surprised they haven’t tried to bring back) when I woke up before heading to work.
Very sad news. The last of the old school entertainers but always able to keep with the times. His Chat Show lasted a very long time right through to 2002 when they were very much in their infancy.
A master at Take Your Pick, he was excellent at the gong game.
And his partnership with Mel Sykes at daytime was a great move. Something which meant he kept relevant for a few more years of his career.
The 2012 ITV Special ‘The One & Only Des O’Connor’ I imagine will get a repeat airing over the next few days. Just like they did with Cilla’s on news of her death.

I think that's unlikely unfortunately, for reasons which were mentioned in my previous post. It hasn't been repeated since its original broadcast in April 2012.
With a gutter press style sub-heading. "
Obviously intoxicated
" which when you read the article refers to Oliver Reed who was drunk on one of Des's shows. WTF is the BBC News site turning into ?
