John McCririck!
The reason I'm so against Carol Vorderman hosting it is it would be wrong for someone to step into her shoes while she is still on board - the comparison wouldn't be fair on either of them.
haha! McCririck - genious! I normally hate the program, but tomorrow's episode of celebrity wife swap with him in looks hilarious!
can understand your views on Carol Vorderman...if the new numbers person couldn't get it, there'd be all kinds of comments like 'bet Carol would have got it'...and probably continual asking as to whether she did it in a faster time or not.
Im sure I remember in the early days of countdown they had a different woman doing the letters, and Carol just did the numbers part. Surely she could do the hosting and the numbers and just get someone else in to do the letters?
Yes that might just work. The letters rounds require little more than a bimbo who can spell, and I always did think that this part of Carol's job was a bit demeaning for someone with delusions of genius as Carol has.
Carol could host the show, and get some bubble-head to do the numbers and letters rounds, with Carol simply reading out her answers at the end of each numbers round and the girl writing it out.
The only problem I see with this is, does Carol have enough of a character to pull it off?

I think CV would be a logical and brilliant replacement...but who'd do the numbers game?!?!
