He's done a good job over the last seven years, but it's absolute no surprise and I don't think it's a disappointment actually - BBLB has been stuck in a rut for a couple of years and without a change in host it was never really going to get out of it.
Davina will be back in charge of BB9 - and hopefully the reward for enduring BB8 will be the long awaited overhaul that's been required for a couple of years. IMO Davina has never been the problem with the eviction shows - it's the format of the shows themselves which need altering so Davina has far more to present than reading out phone numbers and telling housemates not to swear.
I hope with Dermot now gone too they get permanent replacements in for both BBLB and Big Mouth - they just about got away with guest hosts this year, but I wouldn't want that to see the norm. They need to take a leap of faith and let somebody make the show their own as Russell Brand managed to do with Big Mouth.
I wouldn't put it past them, after some of the stupid things they did with the show this year.
Big Brother seriously needs a major overhaul with BB9. It's make or break for me really - I don't think I'll sit through another series after next year if the ninth run doesn't deliver.

I'd try and bag Simon Amstell for the BB job and his poor relations Patrick kielty and the the mighty boosh ( those boys are the fabbest) for the extra BB shows. By freeing Amstell from the Buzzcocks we can try and pressure Lamarr back into his seat. Oh and where has The man bill bailey gone? That man is a legend.
