can anybody tell me why only 2 series of dennis the menace were made?
is it because they ran out of money, Or lack of storylines?

Probably because it was crap, just like the comic's gone. Apparently it now costs 80p. I've only 24 but I can remember when it only ever used to be 25p.

Well the way it's going the Beano will cost £10K in 3006.

It's been rising by 5p a year since 1998, so it'll actually be £50.85. Which is still a lot...then again, it was about 3p in the early 70s, which sounds amazingly cheap now but probably wasn't then.

When I first bought it in 1994 it was 35p. By the time Buster ended at the turn of the milennium it was £1.10 while the Beano and Dandy were still only half that at 55p, so it had no chance. Plus the fact that it was all-reprint at the time.

I can remember in the early 90s when it used to be colour on the front and then black and white inside!

Given there have been 26 episodes (13 per series). Reason for not returning It's more likely down to budgeting since the both series were solely produced in the UK. Don't think lack of storylines would be a problem as they could always borrow stories from the comic and extend them, bit like what was done on the one-off videos of the Beano.

Those were the days! 5p for a comic and a 10p mix up!

There have been a number of cartoon strips over the years which were turned into TV Shows, such as Bananaman & The Perishers, but they never lasted for long. GNASH!
