Tomorrow at 2 PM (Danish time), the official launch of DTT in Denmark will take place, after years of testing and discussing and some months of testing nationwide.

The service will include the two current nationwide terrestrial channels DR1 and TV 2, as well as DR:s second channel DR2, which will now get nationwide coverage (previously it has only been broadcast by satellite, cable and low power terrestrial transmitters). Subtitling will be done with "DVB subtitling", rather than "burnt on" subtitles.

Another service that will launch tomorrow is a separate sign language channel that will sign newscasts. It will be accesible with an MHP-menu so the deaf can watch two video streams at the same time, but also has a separate EPG number.

Finally, it seems that both DR and TV 2 will have interactive services with the imaginative names "DR extra" and "TV 2 Extra". No further channels or pay television will be available from the start.

Estimates say that about 43 percent uses the current analogue VHF and UHF transmitters and that about 50,000 DTT boxes have been sold so far.

ATT will be shut down by the end of october 2009.

Just thought someone would like to know Smile
