Of the editions simply entitled "It'll Be Alright on the Night [insert number here]", there has never been a number "...9" as far as I recall.
I remember being shocked when the one entitled "...10" came out, because I only ever remember "The Kids From..." and the "...Great Cockup Trip" coming between "...8" and "...10". Is this correct?
If so, then it seems they have a rather major cockup of their own - they've forgotten how to count!!!

Cockup Trip was the ninth in the series - it wasn't billed as such though. "The Kids from..." and "More Kids from..." were spin-offs from the main show as these were compilations rather than new episodes.
talking of alright on the night I have often wondered if the 'earthquake' outake from corrie was real or a set up. I know there was an eath quake in manchester but the fact sally says 'oh no i've been rumbled' just before the quake is a bit suspect
it would be quite easy to set it up with sound effect and camera wobbles
If 8 was the one with the opening titles featuring an '8' being made out of a film strip, then yep, it was shown a lot. Think it was the first one I saw...is there a titles guide online or something?
I've added the release dates to the IMDb pages, though something weird with 11 - most only have a year, but 11 has an actual date of the 2nd October 1999, which contradicts the 11th September '99 date given in this thread. Confusing.
Norden had a nasty habit of picking clips of foreign shows and an over reliability on soaps, especially in the more recent ones. Considering the gap between them, it usually ends in a disappointment. (you can have more fun whizzing past the clips to watch him, rather than the opposite)
"Kids from" has to be the low point of the series. Kids on primetime TV doesn't work, that show Barrymore did with them was equally as dire.
Lets hope we get a decent replacement host rather than ITV boosting up Naughtiest Blunders!
Talking about his reliability on foreign shows, I seem to remember a huge German debate or something I think in edition 9 where Norden had to commentate to the viewer through what was going on and we were 'supposedly' meant to understand. That was a low-point.

My mistake! Have checked Simon Withington's website for the original TX date of number 11 - it was indeed 2/10/99.
How about Angus Deighton. He doesn't have much to do thesedays and seems to be fairly regular on ITV
Didn't he do a similar prog for the Beeb ?
(Not that it should stop him doing it though!)
I think he'd be the ideal replacement for DN - a similar wit and sense of humour. The prog Angus did for the Beeb was "Before They Were Famous" - copied by ITV as "The Way They Were".
