The Money Channel's (very cheap) facilities were then used by Avago.
I think Nation217 is also in that building, but I don't know if they are linked with Avago.

They use the same facilities, the building is a facilities house that is used by several broadcasters

Yes but the ones that stick in my mind are Connect 4, The Super Mario Challange and some dubbed cartoon called 'Manu' I think.

Also really remember these 'Fact Or Fib' strands they ran between shows.

TCC and The Childrens Channel were the same thing, they ended up as Trouble TV

Well for the best part of a year both TCC and Trouble ran alongside each other, with Trouble taking the Daytime space on Bravo, whilst TCC's programming for older kids migrated to Trouble.

I believe the original plan was for TCC to move onto Trouble, to have a slot in the mornings, but when Trouble's hours were extended, they had a couple of TCC programmes on there, but that was it, it all disappeared soon after.

Also note, EBN was only 24 hours on Cable, but it was broadcast on Sky Analogue from 6.00am until 12.00pm on Bravo, but then this carried on soon after EBN merged into CNBC in January 1998, when TCC closed, the CNBC slot was switched to Challenge TV, but this soon disappeared as it was no longer required, due to the fact CNBC had a full 24 hour slot on Sky anyway, Flextech by this time wanted TV Travel Shop to broadcast from 6.00am until 5.00pm, rather than it's original hours of 12.00pm to 5.00pm.

Don't worry, it's not just you. We got cable when I was just seven after a good sales pitch at some random SECC exhibition, when there was only about 30 channels - 10 of which were text channels, and another five or six were foreign channels. So there was a very good reason for sticking with The Children's Channel, which I watched religiously to the detriment of the terrestrial channels.

I was ahead of my time.. Razz

It was a time of innocence - nowadays you could never get away with calling a channel for children's "The Children's Channel". They all like to think they're adults. It also wasn't particularly high-tech - what was that programme that you had to send a crisp in and see whether it was damaged to win something. Very odd.

Sorry, I've veered off topic here. Can't think of any other channels that have keeled over, but you have to imagine a lot of the quiz channels will fold at some point - they can't all be making money.

UK Living 01/09/93 - 31/10/97 (continued independently as Living and now Living TV, now part of Flextech's own channel family)

From what I could remember UK Living was nothing to do with UKTV, or have I got this wrong.

When they had the [UK]______ branding UK Living didn't as I'm sure it was a sperate company.

UK Living was never part of UKTV, AIUI apparently they were offered, but they refused, and it was infact a couple of days before UKTV came on air, they just changed to Living, plus if it had kept the UK Living tag, then half of the channel's control would have gone to BBC Worldwide.

But it doesn't matter as both UK Style and Living have both brought in rather good audience figures for Flextech.

It was part owned by BBC Worldwide originally (and the rest by Thames/Pearson), just like its sister station UK Gold. The Flextech bought Pearson's shares in both and bought the BBCs part of UK Living.

I never knew that, I guess it explains why there were a couple of BBC programmes on UK Living.
