On the other hand a DVD of George and Mildred may have a dedication to Yootha Joyce as she died whilst the programme was still in production.

They didnt put them on the Corrie DVD's either - more Corrie's original cast are dead than alive now. Pat Phoenix, Vi Carson, Jennifer Moss etc.

I...a programme like Dad's Army would have dedcations to the entire cast, with the exception of Clive Dunn.

Ian Lavender is still alive...

And Bill Pertwee too(just about!), cos he was in that one footy song video last year, 'Who Do You Think You're Kidding Mr Erikkson'!

Probably a lot of the guest stars still around too, if you count those!

TOTP 2 do include tributes occasionally, usually on the end of the show, but whether they get shown on the UKTVG2 repeats I dunno!

Wasn't there a tribute to Jon Pertwee on the Paul McGann Dr Who movie in 1996, as JP died a few days before?

They stick a tribute on the end of the programme if a musician has died in the week of transmission (Kirsty Macoll and Robert Palmer for example), along with an archive performance from him/her. However since their passing, TOTP2 have shown other performances from those artistes since then, but a tribute doesn't appear at the end-- so I imagine they won't appear on any repeats of TOTP2 epis Confused

Whatever actually happens, I reckon that the dedication should remain whatever format its on (DVD, rerun) and however long after the original showing; otherwise it ain't a true dedication.

Tonight's new Simpsons on Sky One was dedicated to "all who died in the 'Star Wars' films". It listed them, including "Whoever Jimmy Smits Played", "All on both Death Stars", and "Unfortunately Not Jar Jar Binks".

look on the bright side the whole star wars saga of three trillogies spans several decades so Jar jar will definatily be dead by episode nine. Very Happy

Come to think of it there's a 40 year span between Phantom Menace (episode 1) and a new hope (episode 4) and as Jar Jar was an adult in Phantom Menace he's quite likey to be ether dead or very old by episode 4 Wink

Unless his race has a long life span, like Klingons or Vulcans in Trek.

Obviously not very observant then because Ian hasn't been in EastEnders since 2005.
