I don't know what the fascination is. My sister often buys those tacky magazines featuring Jordan and Peter for example. What a complete waste of time.
Piers Morgan seemed a rather odd choice to present this programme given that as the editor of the Daily Mirror for many years he was one of those responsible for the rise of talentless celebrities by featuring them in his newspaper ad nauseam.
Just a side note - yesterday Chris Tarrant was on This Morning talking about Celebrity Millionaire and how good the line-up of celebs featured usually are, specifically saying they are glad they didn't have to go down the route of Jade Goody.
Now on Saturday ANOTHER Celebrity Millionaire (I prefer the non-celeb versions myself!) and Edwina Currey will be joined by Derek Laud - one of this year's Big Brother hopefuls!
Now, I wouldn't consider Derek to be a bigger celebrity than Jade - is it just his class (and intelligence) that makes him acceptable for Millionaire?

I actually don't think he's as bad as some of the others. As a fairly well-respected political speech-writer, I don't think anyone could claim he was talentless like Jade Goody or Lizzie Bardsley. It's a shame though that his talent isn't what he's famous for.
Incidentally there are a couple of paragraphs about him in Matthew Parris' recent autobiography (published before BB).
