This is from Endemol, This will be shot in Aberdeen on the Endemol site with one episode a week and a top prize £100,000 and 20 contestants. 10 in each wing. And WILL be on STV. And the Host is the one and only Ally McCoist that's why the boxes are blue. Each show will last an hour. Noel has already done a special intro message with Ally. So this will start in February. Don't believe me? Email Endemol UK and find out.

Yeah right. Just to make sure only Rangers fans watch. lol. (I dread ti think what Ally would be like as a gameshow host... and which empty industrial unit in Altens does Endemol own?)

Call me an old cynic, but I'll believe this when I see a press release and then see the programme.

I don't believe it, and I'm not going to be emailing anyone.

I think its really down to you to provide evidence - as you're the one making the claim.

Well you will be eating your words when it does come on. But don't you worry I'll keep you up to date and when you realise I'm right I won't even want an apology for you being wrong.

I'll be happy to apologise if I am wrong.

So, have you had this from the horse's mouth or have you taken the word of someone else on another forum?

See, that I could believe as it wouldn't be out of the question for S4C to air a Welsh language version whilst a UK wide English language version continues.

This Scottish rumour is a non-starter - C4 have the UK wide rights, end of topic. In addition, there is absolutely no evidence of a Scottish version being mentioned on dealornodeal.com, where you claim the image to be from, I can find no evidence of Endemol having any kind of "site" in Aberdeen and Ally McCoist gave up his broadcasting career to return to coaching a couple of years ago.

Well now, being somewhat involved with www.ukgameshows.com, I reckoned I would have heard about this from more reliable sources if it were true. So I called ScotlandTodayViewer's bluff and did indeed email Cheetah Television where a kindly gent confirmed my assessment that we were "being spun a yarn". So that's one more baseless rumour scotched. Eyethangkew.

The image in the OP is obviously just colour corrected, you can tell by the slight green tinge in the glow coming from inside the box... mock, mockety mock mock! Laughing

EDIT: Also, since when would a gameshow variation make a point of adding Scotland to it's name, like a sequel or something? If that happened we may aswell start going Emmerdale: Yorkshire!

Not to mention that badly positioned and illegible "Coming Soon" slapped on the bottom.

I'll go with Jenny's conclusion - as she's at least backed it up with people who would know.

Perhaps a warning for members not to take the guff posted on DS forums so seriously...

or indeed, any of what it written there.

It would make perfect sense for something which was now being made for a Scottish audience that was previously only a UK wide thing.

Look at 'Deal or No Deal Canada' and 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire New Zealand' for examples of this branding happening of shows previously made popular in the bigger neighbour.

Doesn't mean I think there is much truth in this one though. Laughing
