Putting Deal Or No Deal & Countdown on at the weekends is lowering the life expectancy of the show, as is making too many of them. Talkabout killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

But this isn't the case for the large number of people who can't watch the weekday editions due to work or other reasons. For them they're effectively one-a-week programmes

But the Saturday edition is going up against big evening shows on the other channels, and is often the least watched edition of the week.

True Point. But the only problem that I could see is if someone wins the £250,000 Grand on Deal or No Deal, in a weekday episode. That episode might not be repeated on the weekend, and would be an utter shame to that worker, etc.

Deal or No Deal is now being repeated on More4 at 6:10pm on weekdays, and an hour later via More4 +1.

Does anybody know how well the repeats are doing?

I can only guess that it isn't as well as the original air run.

The annoying thing is with the repeats on More4 (of Countdown aswell) is they only show repeats on weekdays, so one show a week isn't repeated (presumably Saturdays).

Anyway, back to Deal and it's been confirmed for a primetime Saturday night six-episode run later in the year - though give or take 15 minutes it's doing this at the moment anyway. Hopefully they'll continue with the weekday contestants, as having two batches of contestants would be confusing.

And for me at least, surely Deal or No Deal is better than Star in their (parents) Eyes Kids and that musical show!

The Saturday editions have never been aired on More4 as there doesn't seem to be a lot of room on More4 in its Saturday schedule.

Although I have noticed that the Saturday editions of Countdown are repeated on More4 on weekdays, though of course this practice throws the whole repeat pattern off as airing six days of shows in five days means its going to fall so far behind eventually it'll be like an entirely separate run.

There are people on another website (non media related) that I subscribe to, claiming that Noel Edmonds has died.... Rolling Eyes If he has then it hasn't been announced yet!

BBC I can understand. No way could they ever give away £250,000 under the present self imposed game show prize giveaway rules.
ITV passed on it because they couldn't find a way for both Ant and Dec to host the show at the same time! Laughing

I prefer the show being on Channel 4 anyway. ITV would use the show as a easy way to advertise. And I can imagine a Second Rate Presenter. Rolling Eyes

Oh, Charles is actually doing well! Smile
