I turned to Deal or no Deal during the break on some other show today and I just caught a box being opened by one of the staff working on the show. Noel Edmunds explained that it was because Jordy (one of the contestants) wasn't there that day. Anyone know why and if they record multiple episodes on the same today, did he miss many of them?
I'm not sure, but on Digital Spy there is a big thread about the show, and one poster said that they were a contestant on the show and that apparently 'Jordie' or however you spell it had a stress attack or something along those lines whilst on the show because he tends to get overexcited, and had to go to hospital. I'm not sure how true this is, as I only read that post, I suggest you head over there and read through the post as I'm sure there's more information there.

Three shows a day are/were recorded and the contestant in question was on the previous two shows, not that it means anything. According to Edmonds, she was "still feeling unwell".
Mind you after the way the episode progressed, the player looked worse for wear too.

It's quite difficult to watch Deal or No Deal straight after Harry Hill. When Noel burst out laughing on the programme last night you just got that pathetic joke from EastEnders in your head!
I think the original thread has gone to TV Forum heaven now, but on similar lines I've noticed on Countdown lately Carol Vorderman has been introducing the dictionary corner guests.

The Princess & The Pea- it's not exactally shakespeare, is it?
Deal or No Deal was really good on Saturday night, but I think it should just be on from Monday to Friday.
I agree with you there, Cylon. Prefer it being a weekday basis. The last show to attempt a 6 out of 7 Day Routine was 'I'm the Answer'. However, that was a huge flop, and I can see
Deal or No Deal
being totally the opposite.

Yes, and Countdown shouldn't be on a Saturday either. I'm all in favour of their being a distinction between the weekday and the weekend output, and that goes for things like Sunday night Emmerdale as well.
Peoples viewing habits tend to differ over the weekend from in the week, weekdays are set very much in routine. It's too much of a burden to fit these additional weekend episodes in if you follow either DoND or Countdown.
Putting Deal Or No Deal & Countdown on at the weekends is lowering the life expectancy of the show, as is making too many of them. Talkabout killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

Countdown
is on Saturdays? Now I know everything.... .
Channel 4 really need to put some other edgy dramas into that slot. I think that Countdown wouldn't be much of a show on a Saturday, compared to Deal or No Deal. I mean, think of the ratings...

But this isn't the case for the large number of people who can't watch the weekday editions due to work or other reasons. For them they're effectively one-a-week programmes
