Deal or No Deal

He decided to take a break from telly for a while, and worked with a friend in Staffs who is a mortgage broker.

Although he is glad he did the mortgage job, after a guest appearance on Central Soccer Night (now Hancock's Half Time !) he decided it was time to return to being a TV presenter.

"Battle Of The Sexes" is so cliche. It's the universal definition of "We're not very imaginative".

You can just picture the production meeting.
Producer 1: "What can we do to freshen things up?"
5 hours of silence later
Producer 2 jumps to his feet: "I've got a radical kerazy Idea"....

remember, though, that this was in the Smudgy Mirror .

Music Has Changed!

The new set isn't that drastic, but there are a few changes -

• The light in the desk seems to be brighter.
  
• The Deal or No Deal placard has changed to a flourescent sign.
  
• The titles now use an interlaced as opposed to progressive frame rate. There are some new screens mounted on the wall in the 'vault' which are seen showing previous wins before the hole behind the picture appears.
  
• The title music seems to me to be the same, or perhaps with a slight revision. edit : there seems to be an added piano in the music.
  
• There is a new 'banker's offer' graphic, which is purple and includes a 'B' emblem in the style of a wax stamp.
  
• At the start of the programme, Edmonds pointed at the screen and a '£250,000' graphic with a red fireworks background appeared.
  
• There's a new vibraphone (?) bed used seemingly in addition to the existing bed.
  
• The format of the phone-in contest has changed. The box is opened after the first break, after which the phone lines open. The phone lines now close at 11pm that evening, and the winner is announced on the next programme.

Going into the first break...
"These three boxes will be opened after the break, after which the phone lines and free web entry will be open."
"For a chance to win £10K phone [[number]], blah blah blah, you have until 11pm to enter, the winner will be announced tomorrow."
...I guess part of the phone competitions saga alterations. I'm not too sure why the More4 6pm repeat displays "Competition closed" though I guess it's added to all editions that are repeats as standard. Worth noting that when the phone rings the pillars also flash red now, which I don't think they did previously.

Deal or no Deal back already? Crikey! What happened to the Summer.

Summer was cancelled this year owing to climate change. It will return next May and also on UKTV Gold 6 months afterwards!

The viewer competition has been chopped from the usual spot, Noel must have had to do a retake on the introduction to the show today.

This is easily spotted as Noel has a microphone in his hand at the end of the show but a quick shot of the audience later and it is gone! Also if you notice at the end of the credits you can see the three viewer boxes with no seals

Dont like that neon sign but all the other changes seam nice. I wonder why they changed the format of the phoneline competition. I like the music though.
