I must say I'm surprised this show is staying high in the ratings.
I, like many people, was glued to the TV for the first few months. Now I watch the first ten minutes and my brain wanders. Doesn't interest me in the slightest any more.
It's not that strange. There are 60 million people in Britain, as others get bored, different people join in.
I think you're right there it seems to be swings and roundabouts with people joining it, watching it religiously and then giving up on it and back round again.
I'm still a fan of the show. Not overly keen on the later Sunday episodes - as I think 6 episodes a week is pushing things to be honest.
That said, I still watch for how each game developes. Unlike other gameshows (or sorry Entertainment Dramas) they are played in exactly the same way.
With DOND, though the format of the show is exactly the same, the emotions you go through with the players vary according to the game board at the time and the type of player currently playing.
I might only be 20, but I think it's the first real gameshow apart from Weakest Link and Millionaire that has been around for so long and has a runaway success.
There seem to be few shows like this that last the distance these days with longevity - and for that DOND deserves praise.
Channel 4 is to pin its Christmas ratings hopes on its hit gameshow Deal or No Deal, with two festive prime time specials in which the prize fund will be doubled to £500,000.
