Deal or No Deal:
The Banker: "Noel! You smarmy b*****d! Give him the money y'self ya little rich s**t!"
Noel: Oh he's not happy with you..
Sorry couldn't resist
Countdown seemed better today. Des just needs to speak up a bit lol.

I understand that it is hard to continue a show that Richard Whiteley had been presenting and made his own but is it really that hard a show to present. Its simplicity is what made it appeal to audiences of all ages.

I think it's going to take a few weeks before Des finally gets the hang of it.

Deal or No Deal is ok, but it feels like it's going to wear thin very quickly, especially at 6 days a week and once the novelty value is no longer there.
As for Countdown, I think Richard's quirky personality will always be missed, but good to have it back. It will be interesting to see how much of a rapport Des has with the guests in dictionary corner.
I wonder if Kathryn Apanowicz would ever consider a return to dictionary corner or whether this would be out of the question for her.

Oh, I assumed that would replace O'Grady; when does that come to the end of its run, anybody know?
The irony was that everytime Paul O'Grady sat in on Des and Mel he was better than both of them; it was as good as an audition tape to ITV bosses. They tried Des and Mel in the Paul O'Grady slot, but it just didn't do as well as O'Grady's show. In fact O'Grady has been performing better in that skot than the vast majority of ITV shows they tried there. The man is a genius and his future is assured for a longtime to come.

Yes I remembered. Countdown, and indeed Channel 4, is 23 today. Yet there was no mention of its birthday whatsoever.
By the way, yesterday's 2nd numbers game was solvable. I got it in 5 seconds and nobody else, not even Carol, solved it. Here was the numbers and target:
851
50 25 3 7 8 4
25-8 = 17
17 x 50 = 850
850 + (4-3) = 851

Anyone notice that it's Countdown's birthday today. Maybe thats the reason why this week was the week that it returned. But I doubt it.
