RW is hell of an act to follow so no surprise that Des looked a lttle nervous. Am sure he will bed down and relax and take it in his stride but it might take a few weeks.
As for Deal or No Deal. I liked it. Thought Noel did well and was really on the contestants side. Not mad keen on the method that is used to pick the person who will play the game. Would have liked that to be a bit more transparent. Most people will turn down the banker's offer till the end in most cases. Came on with nothing attitude will prevail I guess.
I managed to catch Countdown and it is nice to see it back, though Carol Voderman was more at the helm today, Des was really nervous, but who wouldn't be? Richard Whiteley is a tough act to follow, Des tried hard, but I guess it's just first day nerves, but nice to see it back and nice to see it carry on, Daytime hasn't been the same without it.
I thought Des did well for his first time. I had thought Carol wasn't going to do it without Richard, though, but I'm glad she's back and it will be interesting to see how it all develops.
Was I the only one who didn't enjoy Deal Or No Deal? There wasn't anything I disliked, exactly, but it all seemed rather pointless. There's no opportunity for yelling smugly at the screen when you know the answer and they don't (cf WWTBAM) for one thing!
I thought Des done okay yesterday, although i felt he kept it simple. Probably a good idea for his 1st day.
As far as deal or no deal i think this is brilliant by channel 4 to give this a slot. I believe it's a winner already, Noel is great on it, well judging on his 1st day.
All makes well, there i thought 15 to 1 was a hard act to follow, being so popular
