I think in a years time the format will have completely burnt itself out, if it's still on 6 times a week with extra editions.

Agreed, SE.

I first started watching it in January this year and didn't miss an episode til late May. This may have had something to do with the sexy young Lucy Harrington though.

I was addicted to it but now I can't bear Noel Edmonds' inane drivel.

He is slowly spiraling down into being a caricature of himself, with his over the top usage of the many catchphrases and the way he gets just a little bit too involved in each game as if its life or death. If he doesn't watch himself he'll be like Richard Madeley!

Personally I only see the show about once a week, so it's still new and fresh, but surely watching 6 shows a week every week of people opening boxes randomly and mostly taking home a middle of the road amount of money will start to tire soon

Apart from accidentally credited Noel's presentation twice today they also included "Neil" the insect who had become the contestant's lucky charm during the programme Laughing Laughing Laughing

So finally the four men in the phonebox have female company in the 1p club as Sally Kettle becomes it's fifth member!

One of my favourite shows in a long time today - the format at it's absolute best IMO!

And today's contestant won £50,000. What a turnaround!

BTW, DOND takes a break for the summer after next week. About time too IMO.

Agree - it definately needs a break!

I assume though repeats will air during the summer - be good to see some classic games again, though this time of course, we'd know the outcome in most cases!

No, no repeats as far as the afternoons are concerned anyay.
From Monday, 24th of July until the end of August when DOND will be back they are running "Countdown" from 3.45 to 4.30pm then between 4.30 and 5.00pm a new series of "Come Dine With Me".

That surprises me!

They should have held back Coach Trip as well really and ran it with Come Dine with Me in the 4pm hour, with Countdown at 3.15pm.

Why bother taking it off for just over a month? Rolling Eyes It needs a longer break then that..much longer.

I think it should return in early October at the earliest tbo. It's been on almost every day since last November and it needs a break of at least 2 months.

I think a couple weeks longer - but it's about right.

Remember it still pulls in the ratings - and taking it off air for too long gives the opposition a chance to try something else in the slot. That's why I'm quite surprised they aren't screening repeats.

I'd say bring it back in September, but perhaps without the Saturday editions, then run it in it's daytime slot until Christmas, doing another primetime run at the end of the year.

I do think repeats of DOND is a bad idea. OK, maybe not for those who haven't seen a particular episode, but even the most exciting games aren't exciting anymore once we know the outcome.

DOND definately needs a break. Noel's even given himself RSI from picking up the phone too often. Laughing
