She skived off work for two weeks - and she's a teacher! That would be grounds for dismissal surely!

according to the news they supported her auditioning so common sense should tell them she would need time off work to do the show if she got through

when she did get through they refused the time off, but she took it off anyway

so they changed their minds about the time off which she could only take it when the show was being recorded.

and they did not think she would cope with a big win and it would effect her ability to do the job

sounds like bosses just being bloody minded for the sake of it.

I once got repremanded by a boss for not asking her permission to do jury service

Hi,

I'd like to know how you become a contestant on Deal or No Deal. Endemol must be getting them from somewhere. Anybody know?

Confused: Confused: Confused: Confused: Confused:

They're not looking for any more contestants. Over 80,000 people have applied. So if you're hoping to go on the show, we'll see you in 3005.

How did they apply? I never see any of these things advertised.

A phone number went up in November. They were inundated.

Of course, they only need one new contestant each day so you can imagine what a difficult show it is to get on.

Worth dumping this here if it hasn't been mentioned already:

A brand new (official) website for Deal or No Deal UK has gone online.
http://www.dealornodeal.co.uk is the web address. It's very TV show-like in its design and as official websites go, isn't actually all that bad.

As expected, the official site forum has already been overrun by the Tweenie brigade, people who can't spell, and features somebody who's in love with ex-contestant Marcus.

Oh and you can buy a book now as well.

I'll bet the affected person who constantly edits the wikipedia section on DOND is devestated. Smile

Laughing Bloody hell! Just seen it...

"On March 29, 2006, contestant Aaron Bell eliminated five blue (low) numbers in the first round. (This was only done once before, during Shell's game, 9 November 2005, though on the show, Noel wrongly stated that Aaron was the first.)"

This isn't someone on here is it?!

As if it wasn't on overkill as it is, CH4 will be airing DOND at 8pm as well as it's usual teatime slot for one week only (for now anyway)beginning on Sunday 11th June

That's because of the World Cup, I bet.

For one week only in June, it’s Double Deal Week on Deal Or No Deal. Noel will present two exciting new episodes of Deal Or No Deal every day- both in the afternoon and the evening.

During each peak- time episode during Double Deal Week, a past contestant returns to the studio. Contestants from the Deal Or No Deal Hall of Fame return to share their experiences since they left the hit show.

Viewers have the chance to double their cash prize as during the first daytime episode the highest potential cash prize in the viewer phone in competition is £10, 000. If no one wins the prize, it rolls over to the next episode where viewers will be able to double their money. This continues every day until the highest cash prize is won.

Notice how on the screencap of the online game there are 26 boxes and the prize goes up to £1,000,000.

It's probably just a direct copy of the US version yet to be finalised - but I thought I'd point it out!
