What were the chances of the box coming undone and the box lid lying face up though? If the seals are that easy to come off, then the boxes should be more amended to make them more secure.
Interesting that they make no further references to the box dropping incident, despite it obviously having a big impact on the show. The original intention must have been to edit out the incident altogether.
I think Massimo got a raw deal - if the boxes hadn't been reshuffled following the box dropping, he almost certainly wouldn't have uncovered the 100k and 250k in his next round, and would have been given an offer even higher than the previous offer of 16k.
Comparing the clip provided and the repeat on More4, it looks like they've cut out a few bits, and no mention afterwards. Is there a reason why they didn't stop recording?
That's quite normal, especially on a programme that's recorded as-live. Best just to keep going rather than stop and start the tape. They wouldn't have mentioned it because that sort of incident would normally be cut out
I just loved how the whole thing was over dramatised. Like someone died with the shots of it just lying there and someone coming to pick it up.
It's all random, so it would have made absolutely no difference whatsoever apart from being unfair if he carried on without changing as he had an idea of the dropped box contents.
It was Tom's box (one of the new blokes this week). I expect at some point in the near future we'll see a change to the seals (or even boxes) to prevent a repeat.
Anyone see the amount in it - I only caught the three 0's at the end!
Watching it today the funniest thing was the make up team rushing in to polish Massimo's head!
Just some more general observations:
Firstly, at the beginning. I'd often wondered why when the contestant is selected the shot switches to a close up of the screen (no one in view) and then zooms out as the contestant walks down. Worked out now it's for the contestant to get their mic fitted.
Also, a theory - is it just me or generally do the people nearer the screen spend alot longer on the show than the people on the edge of the wings.
Those nearer the screen are often around for about 30 shows, while at the other end of the wing they seem to change more often, roughly every 15 shows or so (though there is obviously the odd exception!).
That's quite normal, especially on a programme that's recorded as-live.
Well when I started watching it, I always thought it was live. It eventually dawned on me, but it doesn't really make much sense if they left it in, but acted as it would be out of the show. Then again, why were the cameras still being operated correctly?

Was it me, or did Massimo get emotional when the box incident happened. Understandable if he did.
I noticed that as well. I can't see what there is to be upset about, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for the fella.
I always wondered why an all-blue round on the show offered £15,000 at one point, whereas on that thing, you're lucky to reach £2,000.
Because the online game is heavily weighted towards lower offers in the beginning and is tightly mathematically controlled. The real game takes many more factors into account including the shock value of offering £15k after taking five blues out. Things that a bit of web page programming can't do.
I wish I had seen this edition of DOND now, I only tuned in towards the end and Massimo saying "I'm sure I'm in the hall of fame with this game" which made me suspicious.
Must have been a tricky situation - Noel even removed his jacket!
