I do think these Saturday shows are too drawn out though. It is a good show, don't get me wrong - but having it on for an hour means a lot of time just messing about rather than opening boxes and getting on with the game.

I also think that a lot of the contestants are too full of themselves on this gameshow. Probably after ebing there for so long, they think they are celebrities and just really end up looking like a tit when they are actually picked, conducting interviews with other players and poncing about the place. Rolling Eyes

They are the 2 main things that irritate me with this show. Apart from that, it is alright.

The Bankers identity has been revealed - or has it?

On the credits tonight (April 1st remember) the Banker was listed as "Richard Oldman" rather than "Himself". Worth noting the Executive Producer is named as "Richard Osman".

Also, before the main titles in Noel's opening piece, where the box usually pops up on the gameboard behind him saying 'Deal Or No Deal', tonight it said 'Noel Or No Noel' instead.

Didn't spot that one!

Re: length - it didn't feel too bad today, but it's always annoying as you get into the game and forget about the added ad-break at the end.

It's a show that works well at 45 minutes, could work at 30 minutes and it doesn't drag out at an hour as much as I thought it would.

Noel on Parky was a bit boring to be honest - a great classic clip from Noels House Party but nothing from Deal. It was mentioned - but Parky was more interested in Noel leaving the BBC than his big comeback. Noel did mention though that getting the cab in the driver told him the fare was £8 - but offered him the chance to choose two tickets, one £4, one £12. Noel chose the £12 one!

It would be better to have a break every 20 minutes in order to keep just the two. DOND just isn't "bold" enough to split into quarters IMO. Keeping it into thirds is better.

What do you think Noel's chances are of winning the BAFTA?

He took an offer of £7000 - with £750 and £35,000 left. He had the £750 in his box.

That was another 01/04 joke. Split that name up.
Richard Oldman = Ric(h) hard Old Man.

More4 also repeated an episode from January yesterday, instead of Saturday's episode. I'm wondering whether that was a belated April Fool, or a mistake.

It is good that the show is on Saturdays as well but I find, after watching several of the Saturday shows, that it really drags as opposed to just getting on with the game. I also find it a little hypocritical as Noel quite often says, 'this is your show play at the speed you want' so the contestant goes fast and then Noel drags out the rest of it after each round, making it even worse.
If it wasn't for the adverts I think it would work fine in a half hour slot, 45mins with adverts, but not for an hour.
Still a good quiz though.

No mistake/April Fool at all.
Saturday's show was 1 hour long but it appears that More4 have only allocated the usual standard 45 min slot for the Sunday repeat, so a quick trawl on the archive shelves for a previously screened (and entertaining) Saturday edition and hey presto.

Indeed. Infact at Endemol West in Bristol, the banker has his own room where he is able to go through the facts in relative seclusion and come to a decision regarding how much to give.

A friend of mine presents a show from there and has seen his scribblings down. It's all based on the exhaustive questionnaire you submit when you enter - things like income, do you want children, do you have a mortgage, debts, credit cards, holidays, expenditure etc etc etc. The more you spend, the more, tactically you would go for....

This is a fix! Serves her right - anyone who turns down a six figure sum needs their head testing.
