Why? If they're red for over 100 episodes then suddenly green for one day it looks "awkward". Why is this bothering you so much?

It looked odd - as all changes do - just as when the changed the labels in the boxes to red and blue it looked really strange for a week or so - but now it look strange without!

Also, I think yesterday they kind of revealed how the boxes are chosen as when James said he'd pick a contestant at random to win the Dublin prize the producers had a bag with 22 numbered balls in which were available on the spot - so I guess the box numbers are picked out of a bag then.

Put The Telly On
That bloke deserved to go away with a low amount. He was just wrapped up in himself "ooh look people I'm on telly!". A waste of a show if you ask me. Mad

It's not bothering me (though me asking the question is clearly bothering you - is it making you feel awkward?), I just don't think your suggestion fits with the definition of awkward. Just because something is different or unusual it is not awkward.

Definitions of awkward on the Web:

causing inconvenience; "they arrived at an awkward time"
lacking grace or skill in manner or movement or performance; "an awkward dancer"; "an awkward gesture"; "too awkward with a needle to make her own clothes"; "his clumsy fingers produced an awkward knot"
difficult to handle or manage especially because of shape; "an awkward bundle to carry"; "a load of bunglesome paraphernalia"; "clumsy wooden shoes"; "the cello, a rather ungainly instrument for a girl"
not elegant or graceful in expression; "an awkward prose style"; "a clumsy apology"; "his cumbersome writing style"; "if the rumor is true, can anything be more inept than to repeat it now?"
hard to deal with; especially causing pain or embarrassment; "awkward (or embarrassing or difficult) moments in the discussion"; "an awkward pause followed his remark"; "a sticky question"; "in the unenviable position of resorting to an act he had planned to save for the climax of the campaign"
not at ease socially; unsure and constrained in manner; "awkward and reserved at parties"; "ill at ease among eddies of people he didn't know"; "was always uneasy with strangers"

These definitions are uncalled for; we all know what 'awkward' means - there is no need to post a large amount of text from Wikipedia or wherever, all that needs to be said is that you believed that that was a wrong choice of word.

Stick to the topic please guys!

More4 adds an extra repeat to the schedules from tonight to cover the Saturday show, airing around 6pm.

Don't think they've done the same yet for Countdown - though they have been showing the Saturday episodes meaning the repeats are a few days behind - though have caught up a bit during the Cheltenham Festival.

Sometimes Joe, you cross the line.

marksi, can you let this go now, please? You're entitled to your opinion that 'awkward' was the wrong word to use but please refrain from taking a perfectly legitimate thread off course over something so petty.

Back on topic.........

Yes yesterday's show was stupid and pointless, this proves my theory that all Scots are nutters. (only joking of course). But seriously, if the show's producers are trying to steer Saturdays to being the "blue-ribbon" (if this is the wrong phrase I'm sorry in advance marksi) editions of the week, can we please have shows which have genuine tension and deserved incubents of The Stool, and not pointless exhibitions in nuttiness. Granted no-one knew how he would behave during the game, but i was cringing this week as much as i laughed at Marcus last week.
