Probably not yet no. But DOND has a
very
short shelf life. I'll be surprised if it's still pulling in the same amount if viewers this time next year.
I disagree, you could use that concept with Millionnaire, once the Million went, there's no expectations left but 8 years on, the show is still airing. Anyone how long the French version has been transmitting for?
I think Deal or No Deal does have legs. It should by rights have become repetitive after a couple of weeks, but it hasn't at all.
It's not like Millionaire where you have the same structure each game - with Deal or No Deal every single game is different.
It was the 100th show today and the £250,000 was sitting in front of the contestant all along. She went at £43,000 though and missed out on an offer of £91,000 - which I thought was a bit tight considering the £250,000 was still in play (with £1) - I'd expect the offer to be in six figures.
It was also revealed so far the banker has given away around £1.7million - so an average of around £17,000 per show.
As for The Price is Right. Not only the fact that it's an ancient format dug up from the past will go against it - but also the 15 minute head start Deal or No Deal has. By that time you are hooked into the game, and want to find out what happens next.
Back to Deal or No Deal - it's proving to be a bit of a saviour for More4 too, with the 6.10pm repeats getting around 170,000 and being the most popular programme on the channel most days.
It's just annoying they only repeat the weekdays show - surely they could screen Saturdays on Sundays nights. (They also only screen 5 episodes of Countdown a week, so either the Friday or Saturday episode isn't repeated)

Last I checked they were still airing all the Countdown episodes, including the Saturday ones. And they were two "days" behind then, this was about a month ago so they'll probably be about a week behind if they're still doing it this way unless More4 have jumped a few.

I'm expecting the £250,000 potential offer to continue going down until someone says "sod it" and goes for it.
The top prize has been won multiple times in France, it doesn't seem to have hurt the show.
Well the first official "prime time" Deal or No Deal is on Saturday at 7.10pm, running for an hour. Considering it's up against the final of Dancing on Ice I don't think it's going to make a major impact. C4 should have put it on an hour later against Millionaire - now that would be interesting!
I'm not sure about this - I hope they keep the same format, the same contestants and the same prize structure. Having two sets of contestants would be confusing, and it be quite unfair to have a bigger prize for the Saturday players.
I've always hated the attitude that daytime or late-night hits should be moved into Prime Time. People forget that primetime is far more competitive - and perhaps the audience isn't there that's available in the afternoon - however good the format!
After all, Deal or No Deals only terrestrial competition in the afternoon slot is children's programmes, B-rate movies and Ainsley Harriot!
