Indeed, there was only - realistically - a 10% chance of the offer going up the next round by being left with the £50k and £75k. Being left with one and a smaller number certainly wouldn't have guaranteed an increase - £50k and blue normally gets a £15-20k offer, and whilst you can normally expect a £30k-ish offer with the £75k still in play I would have expected the offer to stay resolutely on £25k - or perhaps even drop it slightly for a dramatic finish! A whiff of a 2-1 return on a 9-1 shot? Puh-leeese.

£25k was an exceedingly generous offer for the board. If it was a good £5-10k less, somewhere in the £15-20k range, his odds on increasing the next offer would have increased substantially from 10% to 70%. As it was it was a harsh result but...

He deserved that I'm afraid. Refusing £44K! He should have left with much less than £10K.

You could see what was going to happen as soon as he said "No Deal" at £44k.
The ironic thing about it was that he managed to take out the three remaining blues and then went and threw another £10k away. £15k would have been good.

To my mind, any (decent) offer that gets quadtrupled is seiously worth considering. Even more so if £11k was the offer being quadtrupled.

I may have deleted my post but Deal Or No Deal has been nominated for an RTS award for Best Daytime Programme.

Right deal at the right time today. £24k won, sold a £1 box for it. Won by a guy called Paul who looks remarkably similiar to Sky's Mark Longhurst.

Well the all new Price Is Right is going to go against Deal Or No Deal. Should DOND be worried?

Probably not yet no. But DOND has a very short shelf life. I'll be surprised if it's still pulling in the same amount if viewers this time next year.
