So the decorations were put up early and when Noel says the date sometimes, that's simply the date he knows it will air on? Do they just want us to think it's live?

It's merely some basic continuity to feel more in touch with the people at home.

Countdown is the same.

As I am told that for the first time you heard the banker talking/laughing.

Laughing? You also heard him talking right at the end of the third deal exchange between him and Noel -
and I knew the voice straight away and it was that of..

Glen Hughill - presenter of The Mole and Deal Or No Deals series producer

As for the scheduling, I wish Countdown was back at its old slot of 4.15 or 4.30. I think Richard and Judy would perhaps work well as an afternoon talk show as opposed to early evening so I would have R&J at 3.30, Countdown at 4.30 and then DoND at 5.15. I think that not only would DoND do well with its regular ratings, but may also be able to draw people away from The Weakest Link on BBC Two, therefore getting an overall higher rating.

Yes I'd go along with that thinking. Richard and Judy are tanking at 5, but DOND did quite well when it went head to head with Paul O'Grady. R&J might do much better against that Richard Hammond vehicle.

£26,000 for Jenni. About bloody time someone had some good luck!

Though she lost out on a further £50,000.

Strange show today - first time I think someone has taken the third offer, but she seemed pressured into take it. They took the last break one round early so she could think about the bankers offer.

Yes, I agree Brekkie Boy. She was definitely led into taking that 26k.
Noel was unusually swaying her that way. The Banker/Series Producer could see how strong that Board was so someone could have been screaming in Noel's earpiece during the Break.
She seemed a submissive sort of girl implying what her boyfriend would WANT her to do in his place so to speak.
I bet he gives her grief now at giving up too early and not taking a higher amount. In fact it could ruin the relationship.
Money... the root of all evil!

Something else to consider: I'm told that show was filmed the same evening of the day of the previous two episodes, where people had walked away with £5 and 1p.

£26,000 at the Round of 11 is a really dangerous amount of money because it could very easily go dramatically wrong. As they'd said, nobody had been offered that much at that stage before.

I do wonder if they perhaps reshot some of it.

Well it had to happen. Today's contestant Dave picked the numbers in numerical order, starting at 1. But he missed out number 9. He dealt at the right time gaining £20k. Then he continued. When he did eventually play number 9 lo and behold £250,000 was in it! Spooky or what!

It's not going to.

Interesting week on Deal or No Deal, with their "love week" special.

Interesting twist giving the player a prize to give to one of the others - but I really don't like the contestants doing the voice over for the competitions.

Anyhow, the show is still a massive ratings hit - often peaking at around 5m in it's 4.15pm slot.
